Freezing rooms with inefficient PTAC units

Posted Jan 18, 2018
Pros: The employees of the hotel are lovely and helpful. High marks for that.
Cons: Upgrade your equipment in rooms or don't turn off the PTAC units in winter when temperatures are low. It makes rooms feel like a fridge
The lobby and overall appearance needs upgrade. The rooms themselves are decent and clean and renovated, so that is positive. The problem is that they turn off all the heaters in rooms unless occupied. I had to change rooms a few times, sitting in a freezing rooms in my coat and boot, waiting for them to warm up. The Ptac units are either incredibly inefficient or completely frozen, which means it takes 3 to 4 hours to feel somewhat comfortable. Not fun.

A little run down, but very clean. Friendly, efficient staff. Convenient to CVG.

Affordable and adequate

I liked the stay and the facility except the breakfast/breakfast area. The seating for breakfast was terribly small, and many guests ended up standing to eat or taking small plates back to their rooms. The sofas could have been moved and 4-5 small tables added without a great deal of crowding. Breakfast did not vary from day to day and seemed limited in choices. My husband did think the coffee was excellent especially compared to what could be made in the room. (I do not drink coffee, therefore have no opinion.) The office chair in our room was worn/ripped and not particularly comfortable. It would have been nice to have a second chair in the room. The only other seating was on the bed. Since we did not spend much time in the room other than sleeping, this was a minor irritation. The check-in staff member was very friendly and helpful for recommending restaurants that were close by. The map on the website could have been more helpful, and it would have been nice to know which exit number to take from I-275. I had to call the desk clerk (the same one who checked us in) to ask, and once again he was very helpful.

On the shabby side

Posted Oct 18, 2017
I gave this hotel 3 stars because it was sufficient for what we needed—just a place to crash at night during our busy vacation. We spent no time there except to sleep, shower, and grab a bite to eat in the morning. But I was disappointed with the quality of the place. Felt pretty old and run down. Curtains had stains on them; repairs were needed on the floor in the bathroom; old carpet. If we had been planning on spending our time in the hotel we would have been looking for a different one. But the bed was clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was sufficient (nothing spectacular). So we stayed and saved a few dollars. But we probably won’t be back. Also, from the info on the booking, I was under the impression that the shuttle was open 24 hours. It’s not! I should have read the fine print, but at any rate our flight was delayed and we ended up having to get a taxi to the hotel.
