Old dormitory style accommodation

Posted Aug 8, 2017
Pros: Nothing, but the staff and the fact that there was a fridge in a room
Cons: Hardly anything, although could do better with new beds
Location: location not central
Semi private accommodation, but do not expect much. 1-2 star, so quite overpriced. A bit remote from old town, but good public transport links. Personally did not like the fact that this is an OLD student dormitory, comprising of blocks of rooms - 2-3 person accommodation sharing a bathroom and a toilet.

I was fortunate to not have to share a bathroom. It's really a university dorm. You'll almost never meet fellow travelers there. But the room was nice

LEU Guest House

Posted Nov 18, 2016
Cons: Their English. "Room service" does not mean either maid service or wi-fi. Nor is a kitchenette a "snack bar."
OK for the amount I paid. If you need a taxi to take you to the airport at 09:00 the next morning, make sure you stand by the desk while the receptionist books it. Otherwise you might not get it at all. How can millenials not know what a teapot is, or how to use it?

The guest house is a good value option for a stay in Vilnius. The room was actually in a dormitory for students. Each floor has perhaps ten rooms, each with its own bath and shower. The room was very quiet due to the “double doors.” The first door leads to an entry room with the bath and shower rooms to the right. The sleeping room is separated by a second door. Closing both doors at night and using ear plugs, I had no problems with noise. The room also included a fridge. On the floor is a shared kitchen with microwave and stove. The neighborhood was very safe, as all of Vilnius appears to be. Walking around the neighborhood at night, I never felt in any danger. The ground floor of the guest house is also staffed 24 hours. The only downside is that the building is a ½ hour walk from old town.

Decent place to stay

Posted Aug 29, 2016 on Hotels
The room was of a good size and for the price, certainly by Australian standards. The distance was a bit far from the Old City but then i figured out the last day the 23 bus can get near there and the bus/railway station pretty easily... :)
