Lovely, Clean Vibrant Hotel

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: Everything
Location: 3Arena is in the same square, Odeon Cinema next door, the City Centre is either a tram rise or 25 minute walk away. Not alot else close by
Arriving at The Gibson, I was impressed by the decor and cleanliness of the hotel. The checking in staff were friendly and helpful and always approachable if you had any questions. The room was lovely, so modern, clean and airy. Lots of storage space, the bed was huge, and the bathroom so clean and nice. We had a walk in shower which as spacious and had 2 settings, either the "rainfall" head or normal hosed head. The breakfast was buffet style and plenty to chose from. There were numerous juices, breads, jams, a honeycomb, unsual english breakfast items, black and white pudding, fruit and continental meats and cheeses. It could be busy at times, and you will need to ask a server for your teas and coffees. We ate in the bar area one afternoon, it was delicious, the main theme was Thai/Malaysian but there were other options too. There is another bar area which is open in an evening. Beware both areas are very busy if there is something on at the 3arena so make sure you book a table. The Luas tram is right outside which will take you to the City Centre of Dublin, there is a cinema next door if you want to do something different. There isn't alot to do in the immediate vacinity but we liked to be able to travel into the busy area and come back out of it. .

Great stay, room was clean and comfy. Only downside for me the carpets need cleaning and the black and white at breakfast was cold and dried out, but otherwise a really good buffet.

Nice hotel with excellent staff. About 10 euro to get taxi to city centre. Bit large and corporate but clean and friendly.

Lovely hotel, room was really nice! Modern, fresh and clean, a very comfortable nights stay. Breakfast was average for the price and there were a lot of flies around the breads and cereals so wasn't very happy with that. Apart from that, would definitely stay there again!

Close to the LUAS tram

Posted Sep 30, 2017
Very modern and clean hotel, great sized rooms. Good breakfast. Seems very much a business hotel in the week. Parking can be expensive as the daily rates they advertise (£14) are from check in time (3pm) to check out time (12pm). Outside these hours it's £3:50 an hour! We arrived at 10:30am so it was a pretty steep bill. They also lost one of our bags when we got back to the hotel, eventually they found it in the safe but it did cause a bit of panic. Nice being close to the red LUAS trainline.

Nice hotel near forum and convention center

Posted Sep 26, 2017
Pros: quiet
Cons: temperature control in the room was difficult (hot at night).
Location: Forum and convention center
Nice hotel. Quiet room. Service is good. Near the forum and in a renewed area of the city. 10 minute walk to the convention center. Further away from the touristic area.

Lovely hotel conveniently next to tram stop

Posted Sep 22, 2017
Pros: How nice the rooms were and how easy it was to use the tram.
Cons: Remove the glass panel between the bedroom and the bathroom as it disturbs anyone trying to sleep if someone else is in the bathroom.
Location: Great location with the City Centre less than 10 minutes on the tram or easily walked to along the river.
We recently stayed here with friends for a 3 night stay. We found the hotel to be very nice and the rooms were lovely and clean and comfortable. It is situated right by the The Point tram stop which takes you into the City Centre within 10 minutes. The buffet breakfast was nice although maybe a bit overpriced. €16 on the day or €13 if booked in advance. It is an all you can eat buffet so is good if you like a good breakfast but expensive if you only want something light. The service was also a bit slow for the hot drinks to be brought to the table. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay again.

Good location, clean, everything you need is here!

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Pros: Clean and quiet locale.
Location: Far enough to be quiet but close to city centre with ease of LUAS
First time in Dublin, chose Gibson due to proximity to things and easy to take LUAS train into city centre. Breakfast very good.
