Lovely hotel conveniently next to tram stop

Pros: How nice the rooms were and how easy it was to use the tram.
Cons: Remove the glass panel between the bedroom and the bathroom as it disturbs anyone trying to sleep if someone else is in the bathroom.
Location: Great location with the City Centre less than 10 minutes on the tram or easily walked to along the river.
We recently stayed here with friends for a 3 night stay. We found the hotel to be very nice and the rooms were lovely and clean and comfortable. It is situated right by the The Point tram stop which takes you into the City Centre within 10 minutes. The buffet breakfast was nice although maybe a bit overpriced. €16 on the day or €13 if booked in advance. It is an all you can eat buffet so is good if you like a good breakfast but expensive if you only want something light. The service was also a bit slow for the hot drinks to be brought to the table. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay again.

Good location, clean, everything you need is here!

Pros: Clean and quiet locale.
Location: Far enough to be quiet but close to city centre with ease of LUAS
First time in Dublin, chose Gibson due to proximity to things and easy to take LUAS train into city centre. Breakfast very good.

The room was very clean and well equipped. I was able to purchase a European adapter from the front desk at the last moment to keep things charged.

Rude staff

While the hotel itself was nice and centrally located , this wasn't enough to compensate for the outright rudeness of the stafff. We were part of a wedding party of 40+ and everyone in the party experienced extreme attitude and abruptness from the staff. When calling the front desk to ask where something was they talked down to us and essentially in so many words told us we were stupid for not being able to find it. The bar staff was just as rude when asking what they had telling us essentially to read the menu and figure it out. Also there was an issue with one of our rooms being dirty with toe nails and hair, when we asked for compensation they refused to take any sort of ownership. It is mind blowing that people can work in a service industry with this lack of courtesy and overall sour attitude towards customers. The entire wddding party felt this lack of customer service . Quite a shame.

Service is going down hill

Cons: Level of service.
After four years of using The Gibson is starting to look a little threadbare around the edges. We had a problem with the shower on day 1, the seal was obviously perished and water was leaking very noticeably onto the bathroom floor. I informed reception and also suggested that if they could not fix it they could just put extra towels in the bedroom to soak up the excess. Neither happened! So day 2 I report the problem again to reception and this time they decided to put as note to housekeeping to put extra towels in the room. Again this did not happen so next year we will be looking for a different hotel in Dublin.

Great modern hotel close to Dublin downtown

Location: Close to downtown Dubnlin using street car in front. 15-20 minutes walking to downtown.
Excellent spacious modern hotel with great staff. Very comfortable rooms, clean, quiet.
