Good value comfortably meets requirements

Pros: Simplicity
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Excellent
Second stay at Matejko and consistently provided for my needs. Comfortable and clean room without frills and simple Polish breakfast. Relaxed and competent staff. Handy location for Kraków places of interest - competitive pricing on rooms with good privacy.

Good location but poor facilities

Posted Apr 22, 2017
Pros: Warm rooms, shower was good too.
Cons: In need of modernisation.
Location: Great location near to train, bus and tram station. Central to all tourist attractions
Krakow is a great place to visit but hotel facilities were just ok. Booked double room but were given twin beds and told double beds not guaranteed as they were not always available. Free breakfast was fine if you're an early riser as the diner gets really busy at 9.00am and later. The biggest disappointment was no tea or coffee in the room only a bottle of water. The room was warm and comfortable meaning the free water was also warm! Television in the room did not have any English channels so was worthless to us. We requested early morning call one day for an organised trip but it did not happen. Their website says bar and lounge - there wasn't one. Also spa and wellbeing - no such thing. Threadbare carpet on stairs and really dated decor. However, apart from these negative points the hotel is clean and warm, great location and comfortable rooms.

Great location

Posted Mar 4, 2017
Pros: Convenient location, friendly staff and fantastic breakfast.
Cons: Just a little bit outdated in style
Booked this hotel mainly because of location. We weren't disappointed: One minute away from the Central Station, with a bus stop around the corner that goes straight to the Wieliczka salt mines and five minutes away from the Rynek. The staff was friendly, the rooms though a bit outdated in style were comfortable and clean. The breakfast offered a wide range of options, from cold cuts to yogurt, cereal, fruit, scramble eggs and sausage. Highly recommended!

A conveniently located hotel that provides adequate accommodation. Decor is dated but kept well maintained and cleaned. We have stayed here several times whilst passing through Krakow. Breakfast is sufficient and front desk service very efficient and friendly.

Excellent location

Posted Jan 20, 2017
The room is a bit old and worn. The shower facilities need renovation. There was no English TV channel. But the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. Hotel is inexpensive for the excellent location - walking distance to the Main Square (wonderful restaurants) and railway station.
