My wife and I just enjoyed a week at Villa Paraiso, and loved every moment. As many have said, the pictures do not do it justice, it is perfect. Just a couple of notes to be aware of, as others have mentioned. The trip up the mountain off the main road is about 8-10 minutes, a 4x4 is going to be helpful. The first trek up is a bit overwhelming (we did it in the dark and survived), but after a time or two, it's not a big deal at all. As with most things we found in Costa Rica (restaurants, waterfalls, views etc.), you have to put in some effort for the payoff, and the ten minute drive up the mountain is totally worth it. Also, grocery shopping...BM has two close stores, one in Uvita and one in Palmer Norte, both within 30 minutes of the house. We stopped at the Uvita store on our way down from San Jose and stocked up on essentials before we checked in. They had everything we needed and even a few things we didn't! Even if you forget something, it's quite easy to get to the store. The house does NOT have AC in every room, just the three bedrooms, which is fine. With the windows, sliding doors, and the front doors open, the breeze keeps the house quite pleasant. We only used the AC a few nights as it was a bit humid, but it felt nice to sleep with the windows open most of the nights. More than likely you will spend most of your time by the pool, which is amazing, and a bit bigger than we anticipated based on the pictures. The kitchen/grill are all fully functional and all the utensils you would need are available, as well as a large set of dishes. Overall, a fantastic place. If you visit Villa Paraiso, I can only hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Also, thanks to Will who was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay.
