The Sofia Hotel

3.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (1494)
"I stayed for four nights to watch a Padres game. The room quality and service were excellent and well worth the price. On the second night, the neighboring room was extremely noisy past midnight. I called the front desk, and they promptly addressed the issue, restoring peace. I truly appreciate their quick response. The only downside was that the front desk didn’t have a nail clipper available when I needed one. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to San Diego."

Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown

4.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (1000)

There is no pool, which was not important to me but something to keep in mind. Bottom line this hotel is beautiful and was an amazing find for someone like me who loves historical places....

The Bristol Hotel San Diego

3.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (1339)
"This is our third stay at the Bristol. We like it because it's just around the corner from a trolley stop and there are various attractive dining options nearby. We like the Mendocino Farms Deli and the Corner Bakery Cafe. We travel to the area by train, so we have no experience with the valet parking. The Bristol is a few blocks from the Santa Fe train station, which you can reach by trolley or by walking. Downtown San Diego, like all big cities, has its share of street people. You will have...
