“I booked a room for a substantial amount of money because my 90 year old father was in the hospital with heart issues. He was supposed to be in for a couple days. A couple hours after I booked the room, he was surprisingly able to be released. The hotel manager was very uncooperative about even listening for my refund request. I had just driven 13 hours straight from North Carolina. I expected a little compassion and empathy but apparently he wanted to get the ridiculous amount of money and then……

“This property was clean and good for what we needed. This old house was kept up nicely. Thanks for helping us have a wonderful time in Charlevoix.”

“Just imagine, college buddies who graduated with a degree in business buy an old motel and revamp it to the definition of “hipster” in 2015. That’s what this place is. Super cool though.”

“The girl that checked us in was very nice. She upgraded our room for no additional cost. Great location for walking to downtown and marina. The bed was very comfortable. The room was small but we only stayed one night and didn't spend much time in the room. The bathroom was clean but needs updating. The carpeting was vacuumed but stained. Nothing fancy just your old time motel.”

“Staff were helpful and pleasant. Nice extra to offer chili in the afternoon at arrival. Food was very good. I’m not a great customer anymore at hotels/motels, had a couple bad experiences in the past. The room was okay, thats about it. Not clean in my view, full pop bottle under the bed, dirty towel in the bathroom on a hook, and a dead June bug on the floor. I liked the vinyl plank flooring by the bathroom. I hated the carpet, too dark and things can hide there. Too fluffy of pillows……

“The Charlevoix House was a wonderful bed and breakfast in the charming town of Charlevoix. Steffan was a wonderful and attentive host that was kind, present, and made amazing home cooked breakfast! Everything was done with care and intentionality. We would 100% love to come again soon!!!”

“HORRIBLE ROOM, TERRIBLE!!!! NEVER will stay again at days in. Horrible. Unacceptable. I hope a health department will show up for an inspection of your rooms. They will close you down instantly Unacceptable. Room 103 had a bathroom door with 1/3 of it MOLD. On the bottom it was coming apart. I could not believe it when I saw it. How can you offer that to your customers. MOLD smell and inhalation affects someone’s Health. I have asthma and respiratory issues. I have no words and my blood……

“The lady at front desk (Jackie?) was very nice, fun and helped us in many ways. It’s an old building and that’s a part of experience. The only disappointment was the jet tab in our room. Probably not used much though looked clean, the hot water was brownish and a bit challenging to use it. Still we enjoyed our stay :)”
