The Haserot Angel - This is a famous grave marker for the Haserot family. The angel has weathered over time and appears to be weaping. President Garfield's tomb is in the Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland. It's a beautiful building with a great view of Cleveland and Lake Erie on the observation deck. All three of these shots are of the same chameleon and its utterly amazing color change capabilities in just a matter of a couple minutes! Radiated tortoises make their home in the fantastic spiny desert of Madagascar, one of the two ecosystems represented under the 3,400 pieces of glass and 738,000 pounds of steel of the Eleanor Armstrong Smith glasshouse. This is a wonderful venue for a concert. Art deco style is stunning. Foyer even more ornate. The Urban Lambscape Project is a flock of sheep used to maintain the vegetation in a vacant lot next to a luxury apartment building on the shore of Lake Erie. The Cleveland Botanical Gardens is a must see FUN FACT: This lovely atrium was the HQ for S.H.I.E.L.D. In the movie 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'. Go ahead, look it up. #Architecture A bright red Nasturtium (Tropaeolum) bloom. The flowers are edible and have a slight peppery taste. Nothing like seeing art from the outside in. This new addition took about two years to complete. #Architecture LEGO goldfinches, a bee, a frog on a lily pad, a butterfly and a hummingbird. Just a sampling from Nature Connects - an exhibit encompassing 14 LEGO brick sculptures using over 500,000 bricks. A tiny robot painted on the blacktop just outside the cross walk on Euclid Ave in University Circle. This is Steggie II, a life size casting of a Stegosaurus. The first Steggie, created by New York sculptor Paul Jonas for the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York, was retired when the Museum commissioned an identical copy from the original casts in 1997. Now refurbished, the original resides at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where it is called Summer concert series outside of MOCA #Architecture An odd smirk permanently taxidermied on a mata mata turtle (Chelus fimbriata) The skeleton of The Irish Elk (Megaloceros giganteus) one of the largest deer that ever lived. The Irish Elk stood 7ft tall at the shoulders with the largest antlers of any known deer, a maximum of 12ft from tip to tip and weighing up to 90lbs. The museum also maintains a small collection of live animals including deer, owls, otters, foxes and this cute little raccoon peering out from the comfy confines of this hollowed out log. The Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse, an 18,000 square foot conservatory, part of the Cleveland Botanical Garden. Started in 1930 and moved to its current location in 1966, the former site of the Cleveland Zoo. Amazing collection of vehicles definitely worth a visit. Museum courtyard. This archway leads to a little park outside the library. Beautiful with the combination of old and new.
