Very friendly, felt like coming home after a long day. Breakfast was fantastic. I extended my stay by one night with ease. A very genuine, quiet, and comforting place.

Has Character!

Posted Mar 16, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff, breakfast room and fireplaces in eating area - we were there in the winter! Great little bar area.
Cons: Change the breakfast up - scrambled eggs instead of the little muffin style egg. Holes in the blanket - would suggest a nice, fluffy comforter.
Location: The art museum is amazing! 2nd best in nation! An easy 4-6 minute walk. Case -Western campus nearby, shopping nearby,
Hotel in the old Glidden mansion so it's not a typical hotel such as Holiday Inn, etc. Lots of dark wood, fireplaces, wood floors, decorated in Art Deco style. Comfortable room and friendly staff. Particularly liked the bartender, Billy!

Hidden Jewel

Posted Mar 9, 2017
Pros: The ambiance of this property was just amazing. I could sit in the dining areas all day just looking around and taking it all in.
Cons: We had no complaints at all! Our hope is to be able to have a little more "down time" on our next trip to Cleveland to visit the Botanical Gardens.
Location: We had appointments at the Cleveland Clinic. This property was very close and made it easy to get back and forth.
The Glidden House is, by far, the most beautiful place we've ever stayed! The character and warmth of the property is beyond words. The rich history, the intricate woodwork and the ornate ceilings are mesmerizing. The staff was so kind and helpful and the morning buffet breakfast was superb.

Charming boutique hotel, museum district

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: The charm, wonderful hot breakfast, free parking.
Cons: Bed could use a new mattress.
Location: The boutique hotel is surrounded by wonderful museums and close to the world-acclaimed Severence Symphony Hall. Convenient to Cleveland Clinic.
We loved our 2-night stay at the Glidden House! The decor was superb. The hot breakfast, served either in fireplace dining room or conservatory, was impeccable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside: our bed was not comfortable.

The glidden House was beautiful, very clean and the staff was extremely efficient and friendly. We loved "stepping into the past" at this old mansion.

Great place to stay

Posted Feb 8, 2017
Pros: Clean & quiet
Cons: The noise from the kitchen outside of suite 225. It's really loud
Location: Little Italy, Cleveland Clinic
We like staying here. With stress from having all kinds of appointments at Cleveland Clinic it's nice to come back here to relax. The staff is friendly, great location, clean & quiet rooms.

Restored mansion, great stay.

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: See above.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Classic restored mansion, built early 1900s. Classy but not stuffy. Nice rooms, clean. Small bar on site, excellent breakfast, free parking. Next to Case campus, 10 minute walk to University hospital. Walking distance to the Botanical Gardens and several museums. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The Glidden House is a great place to stay!

Posted Feb 2, 2017
My husband and I have stayed at the Glidden House three times and we absolutely love this hotel. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are always quit and clean. It has a warm and cozy feel. We also enjoy the breakfast in the morning which is included in the price of the room. Parking is also free!

Beautiful amenities but management unconcerned

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Upon check in, I was told there was a problem with my reservation (made through Expedia a month in advance). I had paid in advance but the hotel could not find record of my payment. Check in lasted 45 minutes and started our stay on a bad note. I had emailed the manager weeks prior because I believed I was improperly charged in advance, and the response was basically "this is how it's done." I let the prepayment go at the time, and fortunately had our correspondence to demonstrate the hotel not only dismissed my prepayment as a problem but acknowledged it was made. It is so unfortunate that this was handled so poorly because the hotel facility itself was so lovely and special. Breakfast was superb and made up for the uncomfortable bed (but not the handling of the payment and check in experience).
