Been to this hotel several times before. More for the location than the amenities. It really doesn't offer more than the basics (i.e. bed, bathroom, tv, & coffee maker). The staff is very nice and eager to help.

It was good. Could do better with more to offer such as a breakfast or water in room.

Good location, but disappointing

Posted Aug 9, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Better housekeeping, better ventilation, if you are dealing with bed bugs or insects, do not book rooms on that floor. Keep lobby area clean.
Location: Zoo, bus, red line metro
Several of us booked here for a conference at nearby American University. Strong pesticide smell in the hallways caused a couple of people to change rooms. Lots of flies around the lobby coffee & tea machines. It was obvious that housekeeping did not vacuum in my room 2 out of the 5 days I was there. On the days they did vacuum, housekeeping did not re plug the clock radio. Also, some of the outlets were so worn, my tech plugs couldn't stay plugged in, so I had to use the hair dryer outlet to charge my computer & phone. Also a strong smell of detergent or cleaning solution on the sheets the first couple of days. Location is only 2 blocks from Red line & there is a great place for breakfast (Bread Furst) 2 doors away. Zoo is,only a mile or so away.

Woke up to a 2 inch long 1 inch wide roach

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: It was downtown DC and walking distance to subway.
Cons: Exterminate!
Woke up to 2 inch long 1 inch wide roach with wings on my shower curtain rod which scurried down on to the shower curtain. Almost broke my neck getting out of the shower. Didn't finish shower and left for a conference feeling flustered. Staff accommodated me by not having to pay for parking. Staff was pleasant, which did not make up for the roach from hell. Where there is one there are more. Decided to drive back home to NC that night rather than stay another day.

Coffee machine in room missing parts

Comfortable beds. Clean. Close to metro system and zoo. Electronically outlets do not work when light switch is turned off. Was not aware of parking fee.

Pros: Conveniently located near Metro and restaurants. Price was affordable, neighborhood was safe.
Cons: Lobby desk was understaffed, leading to long lines of people waiting to check in.
Location: With easy access to Metro, you can go anywhere.
The hotel was perfectly adequate, but not luxurious by any means. The lobby is very small, so if a large group is checking in, it gets crowded quickly. The room was clean but not fancy, but it met our needs. The neighborhood felt very safe at all times.

Washington DC July, 2015

Posted Jul 30, 2015
We had booked a room with 2 queen beds. When the staff realized we had 2 children they upgraded us to a small suite that gave my grandchildren bunk beds and their own room. We were very happy with our accommodations. The only thing that would have made things better was an on site restaurant. There really wasn't anywhere to get breakfast. The hotel is a little ways from downtown Washington DC but we were able to take the mono rail and cabs anywhere we wanted to go.
