Just looked old

Pros: The front desk was nice , he was familiar with town and even printed a map for us
The breakfast was out of everything when got there at 8:00 no one working the area , the housecleaning staff gathered around the coffee area... so I had to wait for coffee ... the room just looked run down

The linen

The linen had a strong smell to it that was like from the detergent used and it was also very itchy. Between the strong smell giving me a headache and the linens being itchy it made our stay uncomfortable when it could have very comfortable. The trains didn't even bother us, it was just the linen.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel with a very friendly staff. Great that breakfast runs from 6 - 10 AM.

Lovely Stay With Just One Drawback

The Hampton Inn was a very welcome sight after a long drive. The room was large and the bed was comfy. Very nicely furnished and even had USB charging ports by the bed! It is a Hilton property and although it's not their high end property there were just enough of their signature touches to make the room feel plush and a bit luxurious. Linda, (mother Hen) was so much help with checking in and helping us find a place to eat. She was very upfront about the single downside to this place. The trains. The trains are close and loud and run 24/7. I happen to love the sound of train whistles so it wasn't a problem for me. But they do actually wake you up. Ear plugs are provided in the restroom of your room if you need them. If you are sensitive to noise this may not be the place for you. But actually it might not be the town for you either as I'm pretty sure you will have the same problem at any of the hotels in town. There is an elevator to the upper floor which is always appreciated with heavy bags. Breakfast was nice and the eating area was great. All in all it was a great stay and i would stay again.

Clean, kind staff

Train is nearby and loud (they can't help it). Bathroom needs some work, but the staff was friendly, room was beautiful, and there were warm cookies!

One night in Clovis

Yes you do hear the trains. Not very loud here though. It woke me up once. I went right back to sleep. I'm a light sleeper. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was pretty with a modern look. The pool and jacuzzi are nice. The pool room is extremely echoey though. I didn't like that. The staff was friendly. You are automatically checked out in the morning with no surprise fee's. We were in Clovis to visit Norman Petty recording studio. We were very happy we made this stop. You have to schedule ahead and please make a donation. They take time out of their lives to give excellent private tours.
