Nice hotel, good price

The hotel compares well with other newer ones in the area, and usually has slightly lower rates. The room was comfortable, quiet and well maintained.

Too close for comfort.

La Quinta is generally my first choice in hotel stays. I felt like I was at the wrong hotel when I found the front desk ladies to be preoccupied and non-welcoming. No hellos.No smiles. No info on their hotel, I.e. breakfast hours, pool, gym. No elevator location until I asked. Upon entering the room, I was stunned to find an adjoining door to the next room, where I could clearly hear the guests talking and the tv sounds. When I called and requested a room without adjoining door, they provided one right away, even brought the key to me on the 3rd floor, which I really appreciated, until she hands me the key and says room is at the end. So I follow her toward the end of the hall. Assuming she's leading me to the room. She stops, and says, "no, the other side". Hmmmph!

CLOVIS STAY

ROOMS WERE NICE BUT DATED. THEY WERE VERY CLEAN AND SMELLED GOOD. CHECK IN STAFF WERE VERY NICE. THE BREAKFAST AREA FOR THE FOOD SERVING WAS TOO SMALL AND ONLY HAD 1 WAFFLE IRON WITH 7 PEOPLE WAITING. THE HOT FOOD WAS NOT VERY GOOD AND THERE WERE ONLY INSTANT OATMEAL PACKAGES. THAT COULD BE MUCH BETTER IN THAT AREA. THE LOBBY WAS VERY WELL LAID OUT. THEY ONLY SERVE COOKIES M-TH. THAT WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT. MAID SERVICE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.

People are nice. Overall fine but hotel is getting dated and breakfast is marginal even for free breakfasts

Nice Hotel in central location

Pros: Professional staff, clean and spacious room.
Cons: Nothing particular
Location: There is not much to do in Clovis. The only attraction near town, the Blackwater archaeological center, is in deplorable condition and closed.
We stayed one night at the La Quinta in Clovis. Without request we were given a spacious suite. The location is very central on the main street in town so dining and shopping are nearby.
