Best hotel location for historic sites and the staff do try .Exceptional service was provided by Andreaa and her colleague who checked us out at 1pm on Sunday 5th ( Apologies for not committing name to memory ) . There was a great deal of willingness by staff to please guests, but there's scope for improvement and follow through ... Food was disappointingly average and the breakfast buffet failed to inspire. The room was large and covered the essentials, but not much beyond that. Given the room rate, one expects better.

Over priced - and over rated - should not be 5 star / should be 3 star at a push! Staff are friendly and they try hard but unfortunately it appears that they have not had professional customer service training (so not there fault) ...choice of food options for breakfast is awful ... interior very dated. If it was a 3 star hotel and cheaper I would have given it a higher score as it would have been more realistic

Cleaning staff does an amazing job. Professional massage therapy available, great after a long flight. Don’t let the stars fool you. They only deserve them for location and amenities. The hotel is in desperate need of updating paint, furnishings and most importantly... the beds/ mattresses- doesn’t justify the prices. Was not expecting a room with a view given the location, but when your view( also for several rooms along same corridor)consists of a roof that also serves as a dumping ground for old HVAC and furnace doesn’t say much about owners pride in this property. This was a repeat stay(6 years ago) but unfortunately will be the last.

This property is not updated and feels somewhat clean but outdated and worn. The location is not great. I think the pictures and dwelling from the website are misgleading.

Living in past glory!
Ended up with an unrenovated room and was ready to walk out in disgust … But front desk saved the situation, with offering me a better room (that had been renovated)! The overall location needs refurbishing (long overdue) and more friendly staff need to be engaged to run the front coffee shop (not angry looking bouncers) … This is barely 3 stars let alone 5! Maybe the area demands that, as it is rough once outside on the street … Sad but the Hotel's glory days are over (it needs refreshing to be saved)!

The hotel was great. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I have jad at a hotel. The city overall was not the best on our trip but the tour of the forest near tow. Was worth it.

The location of the hotel is in the city center, walking to everything Very big room, spacious bathroom with all the amenities, comfortable bed, quiet area. Excellent breakfast hot and cold, very good coffee. Professional and friendly service. Highly recommend it. Very good WiFi as well.

Close to the city centre
Close to the city centre so access to some great restaurants. The hotel's restaurant has a good ambiance, not many can say there is an car in the foyer, and serves delicious food.

nice hotel with friendly staff
The hotel was very good with a nice and diverse breakfast. The hotel staff was friendly. The only problem was loud music until the morning from a nearby club, which is not the fault of the hotel, but it was somewhat disturbing. In general, good value for money, and would come back.

Opera Plaza - a grand hotel
Opera Plaza is a grand looking hotel. Elegant and plush. The hotel staff are very efficient and polite and the restaurant offers very good food. Not a modern clone hotel but one with a bit of character.

Wonderful honeymoon hotel
We stayed at the Opera Plaza for our honeymoon and it was beautiful! They were kind enough to set our room out with their 'romantic package', which meant we had a lovely bottle of sparkling wine, rose petals and a complimentary massage each in the hotel spa. The room was lovely with very comfy bed and the service was fantastic. It was close enough to Cluj city centre to be able to wander around and pop back to our room when we needed to get out of the heat. The hotel bar was lovely for an evening drink outside, and the pool was very relaxing. The restaurant was really good too, with huge portions! The only slight drawbacks were the shower was quite tricky to get it to stay in the right place to avoid it spraying the floor, and the air conditioner could be a little noisy sometimes. But these were minor things. All in all it was a brilliant place to stay and excellent value for money.

I stayed 2 weeks and was very impressed with the friendliness and quality of the staff. At arrival a glitch in the reservation system had deleted my prepaid reservation and it was a very busy week for the hotel. Nonetheless, the reception was able to resolve the problem and I was in a room. Mid-stay, the hotel upgraded my room to cimpwnsate for the initial difficulty.

Old-fashion but clean!
We had the transfer from the hotel from the airport. More expensive than a taxi but much more relaxing, just walk out of customs and get in the van. The personnel is very friendly in the hotel and supports whereever they can! The room is perhaps a but outdated as for the complete hotel. However all is very clean!

Close to downtown!
We had a nice time at the Opera. Unfortunatelly we realized that it`s not quite as we expected it to be. Probably it was great 10-15 years ago but now, with all the new hotels being built, Opera is a little bit behind. The staff was very helpful and extremely nice!

Beautiful Hotel Near Center of Cluj
This hotel was easily reachable from the train station by a short taxi ride. The lobby was very attractive, and the desk staff were very welcoming. The room was large and well decorated. The restaurant was classy and featured "international" cuisine, rather than Romanian. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the central square, major churches, theaters, and the famous university.

Overall a decent hotel, albeit needs an update. Decor in our room looked like 1980/90's. On the plus side, the room was large, with plenty of space for suitcases. There was an excellent gym, with the best treadmill I have ever used. Breakfast was really good, with a large selection.

Quality & Comfort At A Reasonable Price
My wife & I stayed here whilst attending a friend's wedding.The rooms are spacious, the staff courteous and helpful, and the breakfasts plentiful.ut'sakso a stone's throw frothed city centre and has a nice pool and small gym. Ideal Base for exploring the beautiful Transylvanian countryside.
