Beautiful Hotel in Stunning Location

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Pros: The lovely staff and one of the finest Hotel locations in Cobh
Cons: Nothing it was just perfection at its best
Location: The town centre is just a 10 minutes walk with Museums and heritage centre and a visit to the Cathedral is a must
We booked one of the Suites for an overnight stay on Wednesday Night November 15th. Prior to arriving in Cobh we contacted the Hotel reception for Directions from Train Station, the Lady was so helpful with directions. On arrival we followed the instructions and when we arrived at Reception the young Gentleman was so welcoming and after check in escorted us to our Villa Suite. It was of the highest standard from comfortable furniture and TV with all the TV Channels a well fitted kitchen and above all the views over Cobh was just stunning. Our King Size Bed was so comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. We had a lovely surprise in the morning when a lovely Lady knocked at our door with lovely freshly baked Scones and Butter and marmalade.

Nice view

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Nice view of Cobh and the bay. Hotel needs renovations to rooms. Beds were awful!!! Chinese restaurant in the hotel so the whole place smelled. Not good! We were only here 1 night. Thank goodness. The staff was nice as was the bar staff and breakfast server. Save your money.

Amy, I am surprised at your comments as they definitely do not represent our hotel! All our rooms are renovated to a high standard and all our beds are semi orthopaedic beds which while they might not suit everyone they are very good for the body! Yes, we have a Chinese Restaurant on site and have had for the past number of years and I do not accept your comment that the "place smelled" because of it! I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us but I do think your comments are not reflective of our hotel. I have passed your nice comments on to the staff and I am glad you have recognised their hard work as customer service is very big with us here. Colette

There is no air conditioning at this place and the rooms were so hot when outside was only 60s. . We also asked for ground floor due to handicap issues and they didn't give us one. Had to walk up one flight which was troublesome. The good thing is the manager tried to please us with a bucket of ice instead of refrigerator that we needed for my husband's insulin. They also brought us a tabletop fan.

Okay hotel, excellent location.

Posted Aug 6, 2017 on Hotels
This is a good hotel with decent rooms, in an excellent location. The hotel gives extensive information on the area, and rooms are updated. The breakfast is okay, with good cooked, but need fresh items out for buffet. The feel is still a little old and greasy smells from Chinese restaurant contribute to an okay experience only, and it is over-priced. However, the location can't be beat!

Thank you for your positive comments which I have passed on to all staff members. I am glad you enjoyed reading our Information Folder in your room with information on the local area and wider. I do not understand your comment regarding our buffet table needing more fresh items. Every morning our kitchen staff cooks fresh for our buffet table, scones, muffins, brown bread, croissants, we have yogurts, fresh bananas, apples, grapes, oranges, plums and other seasonal fruits, fresh orange juice. We do use tinned fruit cocktail also because we have had this request over the years from people who do not eat fresh fruit and we also have tinned prunes because these have also been requested over the years. You also have a large selection of breakfast cereals, muesli with various toppings along with your tea/coffee & freshly cooked toast. Yes, we have a Chinese Restaurant on site and we are very proud of this Award Winning Restaurant which is running here for over 10 years. Colette Colette

Nice basic facility, convenient to Cobh center

Posted Aug 3, 2017
Pros: Location, size of apartment, and view.
Cons: Older facility could use some upgrades, but still comfortable.
Location: Easy walk to Cobh Heritage Center, Titanic Museum, and other points of interest, including nearby cathedral.
Self-service apartment was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Facility isn't fancy, but is clean and very convenient, within walking distance to main town center of Cobh, nearby cathedral, etc. Restaurant at the hotel was very good and reasonably priced. Staff was very responsive to any request for information or service.

Relaxing Stay

From the warm welcome to leaving our stay was great. We stayed in the Cathedral view apartment attached to the hotel and views of the Cathedral and Cork harbour were superb. The apartment facilities are excellent with a kitchenette and sitting room and large balcony. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Walking back to the hotel from the town centre was difficult because of the steep hills in Cobh.

Great views, ups & downs

Posted May 27, 2017 on Hotels
Initially an impressive outlook over Cobh was appealing but there were a few impracticalities such as poor parking availability & having to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Rooms were clean & pleasant with newly renovated bathrooms. We had a pleasant stay overall.

Hi Philip, thank you for your review. I am glad you had a pleasant stay over although i am a bit surprised by your other comments. With regards to parking we do provide free off-street private parking on the grounds of the hotel and there is normally enough parking for our guests, however in the event of the car park being full, there is also ample parking on the road outside the hotel which is very safe and covered by our security cameras. We also have someone on reception 24 hours a day to carry any luggage up or down the stairs for you. this service is offered on check in and is also outlined in room information folders. Kind regards, Mark Ryan Manager
