Very nice place.

Had a very nice 2 night stay. Very spacious, clean, well appointed room. Quiet, good amount of natural light, which is important to me. Only things that might need improvement are the pillows. Much too form for me, but some people might like them. Only had breakfast there, but it was delicious. Good location in town. Could walk to many places. Has a great reputation in the community as well. Will definitely stay again when we visit Canada again.

Woodlawn Inn, a get-away before the Christmas Rush

Pros: I like the quiet of this hotel and the very friendly staff.
Cons: Toiletries in the bathroom. There should be more and replaced on second day.
Location: Easy to get to from the 401 between Toronto and Kingston. We were there for the quiet of it pre-Christmas and did a little shopping, but that is all.
This is our second short stay at the Woodlawn Inn in Cobourg just before Christmas. An easy trip (weather permitting) from both Toronto and Kingston. It is charming and we enjoyed a lovely king-sized room on the second floor, tucked in behind a lounge area that appeared not to be used, so it almost felt like we had our own living room with fireplace to enjoy also. The staff are delightful. Breakfast provided is full! Very full, and somehow the dining room never seemed crowded, and the service was excellent. We ate one night at the Inn, and both enjoyed the dinners very much. We each had steak - but different offerings. Staff are very attentive and manager/owner/maitre de/server were all involved and friendly coming to the table at just the right times. I am clear that this was a 5 star experience, and if I had to get picky about anything it would be that for two people, the toiletries and soaps were extremely sparse, and none added the second day. It is a small thing compared to the rest, but I know the hotels read these reviews, and it's an easy fix for them.

Pros: location
Cons: Decor, wifi, cell reception.
Good location for our purposes. Rooms are adequate, but nothing special - mismatched and not comfortable furniture. Wifi and cell reception very sporadic. Has ironing board, no hair dryer, no fridge. Parking good. Good restaurant next door. Staff mostly agreeable and helpful when encouraged. Included breakfast same as other hotels.

Sorry, we do not provide cell service but I have never heard complaints in that area. Our wifi is very robust and fast and is likely the finest you will experience in a hotel. Good - but wouldn't stay again (unfortunately)

Pros: Clean, quiet, free carparking, location.
Cons: Don't tell guests that breakfast is 'complimentary' when you've booked and paid for Bed and Breakfast - and don't then ask guests to sign a Check...
Location: Nice little town to have a walk around - really surprised to find a beautiful golden beach and 'promenade' and nice marina too.
We stayed 1 night B&B in September 2017 during our extended road trip from USA up through Canada. Nice exterior and plenty of free parking. Our room (207) was a good size, very clean, and bed comfortable. Purple Jacuzzi in ensuite looked a bit tired (we didn't use (though I turned the (unmarked) control on accidentally - thought it was something to do with the fan or the shower). Walk-in shower had a curtain instead of a door.. Breakfast was ok. BUT MOST ANNOYING: We were puzzled next morning when the waitress explained that 'breakfast was complimentary'... ...it was not - we had booked and paid for Bed AND Breakfast. Even more puzzled when she brought us a formal Bill/Check at the end. She then reiterated that breakfast was 'complimentary' (so annoying) but we needed to sign the Check and invited us to leave a gratuity. We stayed in 8 different hotels during our trip (and we are seasoned travellers, literally all over the world) and have not experienced this anywhere else. Sounds trivial but we found it quite off-putting to the extent that we decided against staying here again 3 weeks later on our way back...

One unhelpful and condescending staff member left us with a negative feeling from the get go. Other staff however, were as expected. The room is spacious and comfortable, but certainly could have been cleaner. Food was good, but overpriced for what you got. Overall, the room price was too high for what we got, especially in Coburg.
