Approximately 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the west of Cochamo is Puerto Montt, a regional city where you can explore Puerto Montt Cathedral, Juan Pablo II Museum and Regional Stadium of Chinquihue. Plaza de Armas, Petrohue Falls and Monte Verde are also well-worth calling into while you are in Puerto Montt.

For a true taste of Chile try porotos con riendas (bean and pasta soup) or corn humitas. And when you are ready for the final course, why not try arroz con leche (rice pudding). To complement the Chile food, taste a glass of wine, like Colchagua Valley Malbec and Casablanca Valley Carmenere. Once you are finished, sample a Casablanca Valley Carmenere, a favorite strong drink.
