Convenient hotel that is close to beach and shopS

The hotel itself looks very nice outside, the bar area and restaurant area and pool are nice for a hotel that is right in town. Most of the female staff were extremely rude, rolling their eyes at us when we came down. The male staff were all very very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good. You do have to pay 2.00us to upgrade to a full breakfast. The rooms really really really need renovating. The bathrooms are old and the tile grout has mold. Very small bathrooms and the toilets run for an hour after flushing. The mini fridge in room and only one outlet. No outlets in the sink area were the hair dryer and coffee machine are so you have to move it all to the one outlet, unplug the tv and lamp which is the only light in the room to make coffee or blow dry your hair. The instructions for the safe are incorrect and the hotel admit to that. Not even an ice bucket. But beds were clean and the rest of the room was clean. The room also had a weird smell to it, but kind expected with all that humidity. Happy hour from 3-7pm. The towels are torn and really need replacing. No wifi in rooms. Lobby only. Lots of great little bars along the strip. Coconutz is a lot of fun and their is one down at the beach which both offer happy hour. Beach is a couple blocks away. You can rent a chair from a guy in the beach. Overall nice for a short visit.

Central location, friendly staff

This was a charming hotel right in the heart of Playa del Coco. Very safe, with accommodating staff and nice pool, bar and restaurant. My only complaint was our shower did not have hot water.

2 blocks away from not so clean beach

Pros: The only good thing is the hotel is on the strip of things and close the The Lizard lounge and Zii lounge (clubs) and places to eat.
Cons: Bathroom, shower, bedding, room size, being more upfront with location and pricing
Location: Near 2 clubs, restaurants and the strip.
Ok, so I paid extra to have breakfast included in our reservation only to find out that "breakfast" was fruit and toast. there is a daily $2 upcharge for "American" breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and no fruit) which is actually only $6 anyways. The photos on the site are very misleading. The bathroom shower was horrible, and so was the toilet they attempted to caulk! Beware of price gauging. Prices for different things vary depending on who is at the front desk. Iveth was very friendly and very sweet. She was the most helpful of all of the front desk clerks. The sheet on the bed was on top of the mattress, ewww! Just one sheet. We paid $40 each way to and from the airport after negotiating from the initial price of $60 in a red cab. The airport is about 30 mins away but the price can be negotiated, or you can get a non-red cab. Had I known this wasn't actually on the beach (specifically a clean beach, CoCo beach is super dirty, kind of like Myrtle Beach in SC) we would have booked elsewhere. We did however go to Playa Huevos via a 15 min cab ride ($20 roundtrip) which is a beautiful white sand beach. Very disappointing with the hidden fees and horrible rooms. Oh, and there was only one channel in English. We took the Catamaran boat cruise and that was pretty awesome.

Pros: Price
Cons: All rooms major remodel
Location: Close to a bad beach. Hermes way nicer beach. Fun town great food and lots to drink. Close to airport.
Old and dank. In the middle of town descent pool nice wait staff. Room was older with gross bathroom.
