#green Cody, WY on our Seattle to Minneapolis road trip with my wife, Jackie. www.bradleyhanson.com Shades of the Old West. I loved Cody, Wyoming and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The mountains heading towards the West Yellowstone Valley in Cody Wyoming. Photo taken from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. What a beautiful Storm day in Wyoming Lonely Big Boy near the town of Wapiti, between Yellowstone's east entrance and Cody (20 miles), between mileposts 34 & 35 on Hwy 20 This historic landmark in downtown Cody was built in 1902 by Buffalo Bill Cody and named after his daughter. It's actually on the National Register of Historic Places. You can stay in one of the historic rooms, or stop by for a meal, or just have a Buffalo Bill beer at the amazing old cherrywood bar, which (according to legend) was a gift from Queen Victoria..There is often live music on the porch during summer evenings, and a shootout reenactment at 6pm in the evening. They start-em young at the Cody Rodeo. This little guy is around 13 years old! Welcome to cowboy country! Cody has a nightly rodeo all summer long at this great facility on the edge of town. The summer championship is on August 31. The city of Buffalo Bill Silhouettes of the rolling wyoming mountains against the pastel sky of a sunset are so beautiful and relaxing it washes away any stress you had previously. If you'd like great views of the Shoshone River, Heart Mountain, Rattlesnake and Cedar Mountains, go for a stroll along the maze of paths in this land that was donated to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. You can also horseback ride. There is one spot with river access so the pups can hydrate. Also, there is a port-a-john facility in the middle of the space, if nature calls! Buffalo Bill state park Barrel racer at the World Famous Rodeo Nite in Cody, WY. She wins it all! Once upon a time, this was the town library. When the library got a big renovation, it relocated and this place sat empty for a while. Now it's a sports bar type restaurant with lots of space inside and a nice patio outside with a handful of picnic tables. Good pizza and very tasty brews made on the spot. This fun little brewery is built into a former garage and is just off Main Street in Cody. The food is good, and they have a solid beer selection. If you're lucky, you might end up with a delicious birthday shot too! Under 21 and dogs aren't allowed inside but can sit at the picnic tables on the patio. Our favorite unique thing was the little green felt flag the waitress put on the table. When you need something from the wait staff, you raise the flag. They lower it after helping you. That way they don't have to constantly interrupt to check on you, and you still get the excellent service you expect! One of the oldest places in Cody Wyoming, the Irma. Rumor says it's haunted 👻 you can catch this #red sign while walking down the Main Street of the tiny town. A fabulous tribute to the wild, wild west and one of its famous participants Buffalo Bill Cody. There are actually 5 museums here and while Buffalo Bill's story is the star attraction, the Yellowstone Natural History museum was also really interesting. I was so impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the old photographs were just wonderful. A real surprise Beautiful mountains greeted me the first morning of my trip! Impressive!!
