Water Access: 10 yards to dock and water (this home does not have usable beach or frontage but does have swimming off of the dock).

Damage Waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.)

The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

5/5 Excellent

Grandpa’s cabin on the lake
Finding the rental was easy. The cabin was an adventure to get to, it really was at the end of a dirt road. The cabin is quaint and rustic and weathered well in the wind and rain that came with the season. We enjoyed the view and the retreat from the fast paced world!

5/5 Excellent

Great Family Vacation
We loved the rustic old cabin. We played board games in the evenings and boated/watersports activities during the day. The private dock was just what were looking for. The 10 mile winding drive to the cabin was the only downside.

5/5 Excellent

Typical lake cabin
Great swimming, and very eclectic grandpa's cabin. Reminds me of my childhood.

2/5 Poor

UNSAFE WATER - betrayed by ad!
The cabin’s rustic charm did not make up for unsafe conditions & cleanliness issues and for the money was an appalling disappointment. We arrived late evening with an infant to find the tap water is unfiltered water directly from the lake. Having been a cabin owner on Hayden previously I personally know several people who have gotten sick with Giardia (a serious intestinal illness) from drinking unfiltered Hayden water. To not have been told of the water situation ahead of time was simply wrong as it put my family & particularity my infant grandchild at serious risk. We had no safe water for baby bottles and had to boil water to even simply wash them! To the closest store & back took over an hour - for a hungry baby an eternity! The kitchen sink constantly backed up with dirty water & we could only wash dishes a few at a time. We tried liquid Plummer 2x to no avail. Also, the cabin was not as advertised in the following ways: no queen bed, just 2 fulls & 2 twins, “full” kitchen lacked basics like standard 9.5” x 11” baking dish & food storage containers except little snack size bags for leftovers - (another trip to town required to remedy) & mixing bowls were flimsy plastic dollar store ones. Also, neither “bedroom” had a closet (so not legally a bedroom) and tho there were a couple dressers with unlined drawers they were so very musty smelling we didn’t put our clothes in them & had to live out of suitcases - very inconvenient. There were only 2 beach towels for a cabin advertised for 6. I had to wash the filthy, spider web covered beach chairs in the lake before using. The outdoor blinds were absolutely filthy and we didn’t unroll them for fear of the spiders and dirt. Things like the bench by the back door and porch handrails were so dusty and dirty with bird feces I spent a large part of the first day cleaning. Also, the ad says the cabin has “beach access” but there is no beach! While there is access to a dock (along a narrow plank that had only a partial handrail on 1 side after an overly large step down where no handrail exists) the waterfront is steep boulders which is perfectly acceptable unless you are expecting the advertised beach. Much fine tuning is needed for this to be worth the price & truth in the ads could manage expectations. Foremost, it is iNEGLIGENT as well as unconscionable to not inform renters of the unfiltered tap water & it’s risks BEFORE THEY ARRIVE! It created a crisis for the baby & a inconvenience for all!

4/5 Good

Practically perfect
The only negative was a kitchen sink/pipe issue. A very nice person came the very day we called and helped out. Suggestion: install new piping and sink/faucets/sprayer. Also, do instruct how to turn on A/C upstairs. Not all of us know how to operate machinery! We had a wonderful time, nevertheless !!!!
