nice hotel and great for a travel stopover

we stayed on a trip to Brisbane and found the windmill an ideal location. We loved the buffet breakfast. That rely kept us going.

This stay was better than expected. The location was good, not far drive into town on the main highway.

Coffs Harbour short break

Great hotel with charm located next to eidelweiss restaurant. We had the family room and found it was very comfortable for the 4night stay. Bathroom was a little dated but very clean. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet was a great spread and value for money. I would recommend to anyone looking for a clean comfortable stay on a budget.

Terrible from beginning to end. Zero customer service. Never again! Staff stuffed up my booking and tried to charge me twice. Gave me the wrong room even after receiving a confirmation for the correct room and tried to blame it on being taken over by another party? dead bug in my room, very tired and old furnishings, stuck in the 80's. Time for the Big Windmill to retire.

Clean and comfortable

Room was very clean and beds comfortable. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and had plenty of room for a family of 5. Heated pool was popular with the kids. Parking right outside your room was good. Most of the decor has been updated, bathroom is a little tired but still very functional. Good location on the main road for travelers. Quiet rooms despite the main road. Friendly staff. Quite a distance to the beach, need to drive.

My kids loved riding the gold buggy around with Dean. Lovely spacious place with plenty of party and bedrooms are very big. Only problem we had wasn't actually with the motel itself, rather the hotel restaurant. The food was great. We couldn't book a table as they were very busy so we ordered take away from them. My husband and brother ordered a couple of big mugs of beer to drink while waiting for our order at the beer garden with. I shelter (which was going to take about 30-45 minutes). It then poured down with rain, so they decided to bring the drinks to our rooms to finish. Never crossed their mind that it would be a problem. Next morning before checking out, we have a member of staff (not sure if from hotel or restaurant) knocking and basically said something along the line of "We know you have a couple of beer mugs which are $15 each. We saw you guys on our CCTV walking away with the mugs last night." My husband explained the misunderstanding but was still talked down about it by the staff like we were thieves. We normally stay at hotels, so not sure of the etiquettes at motels. Misunderstings happen and we apologized for it. However, even then, the way the staff treated us for that was not very nice at all. Just a feedback to have a think about it. You MAY have guest who take your things, but in our case it was a genuine mistake, but the staff couldn't care less.

Average room, facilities were appalling

We only had a one night stopover stay, and we went to use the toilet that didn't work and reception was closed. Us four girls were trying to fix it, ended up using the cups to pour water in it as it had run out. There was no cold water available only hot was coming out of the tap. Beds were really uncomfortable. Next morning we were leaving I told the male receptionist these issues and that I was disappointed, he just said "Oh sorry to hear that, we'll have someone look into that thanks".

Extraordinarily disappointing

We booked this motel on the basis of customer reviews, which were overwhelmingly positive. We were dismayed it represents terrible value for money. The restaurant kitchen was closed - suboptimal after a long drive; the room was inadequately repaired - coffee cups & the remote control were missing and there was no milk. Water hammer in the shower was deafening. I could go on. Here's hoping our experience was an unfortunate exception. At city prices, it is just not good enough.

Perfect for what we needed, the management where great and very friendly. Would stay again
