Beyond my expectationsPosted Mar 21, 2018
Pros: The staff are incredible.
Location: Lots of great restaurants near by but they are expensive. I would recommend going to the natural museum and the library that's across from it.
We treated ourselves to 2 nights at the Taj while we were in India for our honeymoon and it was well worth it! The staff there went out of their way to make it a memorable stay (and they didn't even know about the occasion). It's just their attention to detail! For example, my husband and I had left our books on our nightstands and the staff came by with Taj bookmarks for us - what a delightful keepsake! We also stayed at the Taj Tower which is considerably more affordable than the Taj Palace with the same experience. We had an incredible view of the ocean and the Gateway to India. If you're concerned with the cost, definitely go with the Taj Tower and sign up for the historical tour of the Taj Palace. It's fascinating.

Lovely Experience!Posted Mar 2, 2018
My husband and I loved our 4 day stay at the Taj Mahal Palace. The historic details and special touches, such as flowers and little gifts in our room, where very much appreciated. The staff were all eager to help us and very kind. We received a fantastic couples massage at the spa that was very reasonably priced. The only issue was that the hotel was very busy and a little crazy when the CA Prime Minister stayed there for a conference - but that of course could not be helped.

Total perfection but restaurant not quitePosted Jan 10, 2018
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Not much to see in Mumbai except for the museums and a few fascinating late Victorian enormities. One is there for business and the hotel.
This is the best hotel in the world — extraordinary staffing and manners, beautiful central enclosure with pools, lounge, restaurant, landscaping, and fantastic spa facilities. The restaurants, with the exception of the top floor knock your socks off The Souk, would have to be rated quite below the level of the hotel itself, however. The Chinese not up to best US versions, the Indian well below the best restaurants in Mumbai outside the hotel. That said, this is a wondrous, extraordinary place to which we would gladly return anytime.
