Really great hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2016
Pros: Nice room and bathroom. Really friendly, professional and efficient service.
Cons: There was to be a morning breakfast buffet but we had to order. It was okay but a little confusing, at first. We were finally directed to a seat.
Location: Not much to do nearby. I've never seen a shopping center of restaurants but that's what was next door-- at least 10 restaurants and one nail salon.
Stayed overnight for a morning funeral. No complaints. Room nicely appointed; staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was NOT included bc we booked thru Expedia rather than with the hotel. That should have been clearer. Breakfast was also a bit confusing bc there was no buffet as expected; you had to order. It worked out and was delicious although seating and process was a little disorganized and everything posted wasn't on the menu. How can you run out of bacon for breakfast. Next time, seat guests and explain... But they were awfully nice and responsive.

Passing through town

Posted May 30, 2016 on Hotels
I was passing through town and decided to stay at this hotel after finding it on hotels.com. When I arrived, the immediate impression was of the beautiful lobby. Very modern, lots of sitting areas, lots of natural light through the large windows. Very inviting. There was also coffee and water with orange in it for guests. The front desk clerk was not there, but quickly came over and checked me in after just a moment. Very welcoming, so another good impression. My room was on the second floor, and when I went in, I was again impressed. Large, clean, little office space if you need to work, and a decent size bathroom. There wasn't much of a view, but as I was only there for the night, I did not need it. Very comfortable bed and easy sleep. The next morning was when the issues started. I had to leave at 0500, so I was up very early. I attempted to make a cup of coffee in the Keurek, but after following the steps (as if it is that difficult), nothing ever came out, no matter how many times I tried. I just gave up and left. At the front desk, there was no one there to check me out, so I waited, but I could hear someone in the back office area cussing up a storm. I'm not sure what his problem was, but when you're at work at a customer service job, yu need to be careful, since you never know when someone is around. I finally got his attention and checked out. I told him about the Keurek not working, but he did not seem to care. Overall, a good experience.

DC College Visits

Posted Apr 20, 2016 on Hotels
Just a brief one day stay while looking at DC area colleges. Best priced hotel for the location and comfort as high demand had driven up prices in the area the week we visited. About 4o minutes from Georgetown during rush hour...25 minutes with normal traffic.
