Ok but in urgent need of refurbishment!

It was a convenient place to stay, I attended an all day conference (literally 1 minute walk) next door. The interior was a bit drab, a lot of wear so it really would benefit from a re-do: carpets, paint, decor etc.

We arrived about 11:30pm on our arrival date. Once checked in, we walked into the room it was warm and comfortable. After showering, it seemed we needed to have to turn up the heat but when we did it never seemed to get warmer, even at 90 degrees. So exhausted we addressed our concerns at the front desk the next morning. The staff at the front desk was fast and efficient in notifying maintenance about the problem. They even comp'd us the night. By the evening when we returned from our day out, our room was like the "Sahara Desert " I do have some suggestions as a traveler, it would be to add racks to hang wet face clothes and towels. And as a woman who wears make up, the lighting in the bathroom is horrible it's too dim. I had to move the lamps around in the room to get sufficient lighting and even then I had to open the curtains and use the natural light.

Perfectly Adequate Accommodations

Pros: It was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The facility needs to be updated. The signs of wear and tear fr heavy use were evident in a number of places in the room, the hallways and the lobby.
Location: This was a business trip and the hotel was conveniently located near my next day's appointment.
No surprises here. It is a Holiday Inn. It is a little worse for wear and could use some updating, but the room was just what I expected. It was not outstanding in any sense, but everything was fine. I did have to turn off the refrigerator in the room. It was very noisy. Otherwise, everything was fine. There was a mishap with my reservation I made through Expedia. The front desk staff was excellent in resolving the problem, although Expedia was not particularly helpful to their efforts. The staff gets high marks, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. That was all I needed for this trip.

Just not a typical Holiday Inn Express. Usually cleanliness and staff hospitality are on point.

Dog park nearby.

Pros: Dog lover, there was a dog park across the street, took a nice walk in the evening!
Location: The subway station nearby was a great surprise, we enjoyed not having to drive into D.C.
The hotel was located near convenient restaurants and we were able to pickup the subway to Washington D.C. approx. 5 mi. away which dropped us off close to the capital and national archives!!

Not as good as Holiday Inn Express/Suites

Location: Sleep
I took Holiday Inn Express & Suites for a few times in U.S.A, and all of them are better than Holiday Inn. Don't know why. In China, Holiday Inn is 4-star hotel and much better. The one in American is less new, clean than the other two types Holiday Inn.

Convenient to 95 on our trip north

Last minute booking Room was clean. Bathroom also clean but needs updating. Wallpaper was peeling because of no fan in the bathroom.

We stayed for 2 nights, the front desk was very quick at getting us checked in but they were not happy or friendly. Our room was large, but it did not seem that clean. At 9am the 1st morning we stayed, a staff member tried to come into the room to clean it. When realizing we were still there, apologized and said she would return. We left about an 1 hour after this. We went out for the day and came back around 8pm that evening to find that the room had not been looked after at all. We had to call the front deck to get some new towels. The front desk brought up the new towels and took the ones we had left to be cleaned. I understand they have a whole hotel to do, but when you say you will come back, make sure that you do.
