Nice hotel for Cheverly, close to Washington

Hotel staff were all very hospitable and friendly. When we enquired about which bus to catch to the Washington Metro, they offered to drive us to the closest station and asked us to call them when we returned. Driver was very pleasant and pointed out several hidden cameras along the route which was an eye opener for us. Room was recently updated inside, pool is clean and outside. Some parts of the hotel are rather dated BUT they are improving things bit by bit. Bar in lobby has food, restaurant next door, gas station next door so you're pretty much set. Would return to this hotel because the staff are so nice.

Extremely loud

The first room we got had a ridiculously loud noice coming from outside. Generator or something. After some reluctance from the front desk we were moved to a quiet room. Also note that there's a club next door.

We understand the importance of a quiet environment to rest well and wake refreshed. We would like to apologize that the exterior noise disrupted your stay. We are glad we were able to move you to a more suitable and quieter area of the hotel. We will speak with the restaurant, and continue to work with them to ensure that our guests stays are not interrupted by their private events. We know they are not held at all times and we understand it lets out a good hour but the guests are louder in the parking area. Sorry again for the disruptions.

Nice

We had an issue with our air conditioner and they gave us a fan. Hotel is nice and clean. Pool was bigger than we expected and breakgast was decent! Only other issue is that the elevator is extremely small

Yes to Nice room and pleasant front desk! But...

I was greeted by a very pleasant front desk staff! Afterwards, the room was very clean and comfortable. However, the kitchen staff is very rude and the cooked breakfast food was horrible. Tried the chopped beef sausage and it was as if I just eaten a spoonful of salt! Also, please make sure you have appropriate supplies! They were rude when we asked for French vanilla cream for coffee that they had completely run out of. Completely unnecessary! The night before when we ordered at the restaurant based on the description provided on the menu, first it took forever to get the food and second we had to keep asking for all the items the menu stated would come with the entree! In return they'd ask, "Oh you want that?". Really!! Please get your food services together cause right now they are awful!

Our stay at the hotel was very good the room and staff were great however, they did recommended the Italian restaurant down the street and did have a menu in with the hotel information but the restaurant was terrible. The food was not very good at all. I could have cooked better getting frozen items from my local grocery store and cooked it myself and it would have tasted better than what they served and the prices were to high for the quality of food. If I were the hotel I would distance myself from them and surly not recommended them. It reflects bad on the hotel as well.

comfortable stay and nice breakfast

stayed there for three nights. the place offered comfort, clean rooms, decent amenities, and very varied choices of hot breakfast. enjoyed my stay. the top floor(s (?)) of the hotel appeared to be occupied by some long term tenants rather than hotel guests, and I learned to stay at the ground floor throughout my stay.

Good hotel good room ac bad

Pros: large room
Cons: ac noise and parking noise during the night
ac doing too much noise we had to turn it off to be able to sleep

Out date older hotel. But Nice clean room

Older outdated hotel but More updated and nicer bathroom and bedroom. Good not Marcellus of course. I guess good for few nights

Disappointed

Pros: The beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Cleanliness, elevator
Location: Washington D.C. National Mall, monuments and museums. University of Maryland is close.
Reasonably priced on the north side of Washington D.C. Not many choices of decent restaurants close to the hotel. Very comfortable bed and nice front desk staff. Elevator was extremely small and in bad shape. Towels in bathroom had dark spots on them. One of the beds had a dirty duvet cover. Air conditioner in our room made a terrible, loud noise and the room smelled awful when we entered; it was supposedly a non-smoking room.

The staff was awesome. The hotel was very old. Did I say how awesome the staff was!!!
