Great location and great hotel
What an amazing hotel. The location was great and was approximately 10 minutes walk from the Christmas market and Hard Rock Cafe was only one street away from the hotel. The hotel itself was large, clean and smelt fantastic. I travelled from the UK and it would have been even better if there were English speaking channels on the TV in the room but apart from that the stay was brilliant - I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We received excellent service at the front desk. A special thanks to Lorenzo for his suggestions and guidance. Delicious breakfast offering. Great location. My only issue would be that the carpeting in the public spaces was well worn and in need of replacement. (6th floor). This however does not change my rating of this excellent hotel

Most enjoyable stay
Most comfortable stay at the Dorint. Perfect location to explore the city centre and visit the Christmas markets, quite close to the Cathedral. Cosy and spacious room, modern and appealing layout, delicious food and great service at the restaurant.

Christmas markets
Walking distance to 5 Christmas markets, Cologne cathedral, Lindt chocolate factory/museum, lots of restaurants and train station, bus stations. Hotel is very clean and safe. The only negative was the twin beds are small and nobody was ever working the stand for buying snacks/drinks, even after ringing the bell, no one ever showed up.

Swimming pool closed due to maintenance and usually 16€ fee per calendar day (not night), which I did not notice when booking. Nice rooms with mild signs of use. Very nice breakfast (€20pp). Very central location convenient for our purposes.

Comfortable and excellent location
We stayed for 4 nights and had a comfortable stay. Initially we were offered a dome view room but it's AC was not effective . On our complaint and persistence, we finally got a room with comfortable AC with inside view. However, this worked out much better . Linen, bed were top class and breakfast was excellent. Wish, they provide a water bottle on daily basis . The location was too good with everything walking distance.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. They don’t have rooms with 2 beds larger than a single. They are just big enough for a child and they are on wheels. The carpet in the room had waves in it you could trip on, the door to the cabinet the safe was in was falling off, the glass shower door kept sliding open on its own and you have to jam a towel into the wheels, the hoses attached to the shower head were leaking and spraying in the shower and the bathtub. They don’t supply any face cloth in the bathroom and want you to opt out of cleaning the room completely to save the environment instead of just not replacing sheets and towels. I don’t think I would stay here again.

Very quick and friendly check-in. Room was clean and the surrounding was clean and walkable. 15 min walk to the train and close to shopping and restaurants.

The hotel was clean, good sized room with kettle, hairdryer and a mini-bar fridge (without contents) allowing you to put your own drinks etc in the fridge during your stay. Bed was very hard, I am used to a medium-soft bed but this one was too hard for my liking. Cleaners were considerate and reception staff friendly and helpful. More than 2 sachets of coffee in the room for a couple would be helpful though. Luckily there is an amazing coffee shop just 2 streets down.
