Good for a relatively cheap stay in Colombo
The room was what I would expect for the relatively low price of Rs. 8300 including breakfast. The air-conditioning was good. There was not too much noise considering the city location. The Maldivian breakfast was excellent.

Conveniently located rooms are small and bit run down since they where closed for so long with COVID, survived it with no major issues

Not the prettiest place but comfortable!
I read the reviews so I knew what I was getting. Small room but cozy and the staff was very nice. Room service was great and the TV actually worked (a rarity in my experience in Sri Lanka)

Don't go there
When we arrived the reception area smelt damp as if the hotel had not been opened for a long time. The first room we were shown stank of cigarette smoke and the carpet was dirty as if not hovered in ages. They sprayed with airfreshner but it did not help. The second room was small with double bed pushed against one wall. Unfortunately a new building has been set up next door. I'm sure if I opened the bedroom window I would have been able to touch the next wall. The restaurant and swimming pool are in the sister hotel the Pearl Grand next door. We asked to move our booking there but the manager next door was not helpful. We left within an hour of checking in. At least the manager of Pearl City was polite and offered to pay our taxi to our new hotel. Even as a cheap hotel it is not clean to stay here and the staff not helpful.

Family Shopping
We booked 2 rooms for our family. Room was ok but wifi is not working at all. All other things were just fine. The great advantage of staying in the hotel is can use their Pearl Grand freely.

Central Hotel close to shops. BUT
I was thrilled with this hotel UNTIL the last 3 minutes I spent in it. Considering that I had spent $1000 (154020LKR) over a 14 day period for my own and my son's accommodation and then an additional 22573LKR for his wife ,mother, sister and nephew to stay over 2 nights, I was appalled at the reaction to the fact I had used a can of Pepsi from the fridge in the room and replaced it with a larger bottle of Coca Cola. The duty manager demanded I pay 275lkr for an item that retailed at 75lkr. I told him he should be ashamed of himself but the look on his face told me he could not care less. I reluctantly paid and told him that despite having said prior to this incident I would return and also recommend the hotel, I retracted those remarks quite forcefully

Good place
Whilst this hotel is not the prettiest I have stayed in it is well located and the staff were extremely helpful. I had a bad first night because of building next door but the staff talked to the builders and I then got four good nights sleep.

I have stayed in 4 days and all the staffs are very friendly. So far any problems comes, they have arrange the alternative way and the hotel area was always so clean.

not nice hotel
Pearl city hotel from the moment i booked in was not a nice experience. Upon my arrival took them over 3 hrs & 3 different i.t. guys to get internet to work then during my 2 day stay i would have to reconnect internet every 10 mins even when internet worked it was that slow it was basically useless. Then i found out u cannot even make a cup of coffee in room. No electric jug no coffee no tea. the room was absolutely filthy & stank like someone had urinated in the corner of littlest motel room i have ever stayed in. Strongly recommend other travelers to give a wide berth,there are a lot nicer,,cheaper,bigger motels than pearl city in colombo.

騒音がうるさい。
価格に対して快適度はよくなかったと思う。 隣の建物が建設中のため、（早朝や深夜時間帯でも）部屋の中でも工事音がうるさい。 建物内へ入ったとき、塗料か薬品のようなにおいが鼻についた。 予約済みにも関わらず、部屋にはいれるまで時間がかかった。

Goed hotel met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, vooral de portier deed zijn uiterste best, zwembad op dak van de buren was heerlijk, daar mocht je gebruik van maken. De 2 dagen dat we daar waren hebben we ons goed vermaakt. Jammer dat ze aan het bouwen waren naast het Hotel (beginnen om 0600, en stoppen om 22.00 uur.

Hotel nahe Einkaufszentrum
Das Hotel liegt nahe dem Einkaufszenter Majestic City (5min Fußweg). Das Hotel selbst hat keinen Pool, allerdings kann man im benachbarten Pearl Grand den Pool auf der Dachterasse mit benutzen. Die Zimmer sind okay, allerdings hat das Hotel seine besten Tage hinter sich. Grundsätzlich erscheint das Hotel überteuert im Vergleich zu anderen Ländern. Für Sri Lanka ist dies derzeit wohl die Norm (derzeit werden zahlreiche Hotels in Colombo gebaut).

Dirty hotel with great location
Pearl City Hotel is in an amazing location just a few minutes from the beach and the nicer restaurants in Colombo 2. However, the room smelled really bad and old. The floor matt was wet and most of the decor was broken in some way. Dirty walls as well. Though the price was okay for Colombo and the bed was comfy. Also, the hotel doesn't actually have a pool. It's the hotel next door, Pearl Grand, that has the pool. Only takes a minut or two to get there, but I was still disappointed since I read on hotels that the hotel itself had a pool.
