Adorable, clean, comfortable B&B in downtown

Posted Jul 29, 2016
This was a great place right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. The room and common areas were decorated in an old style manner but were clean and cozy. The food was delicious and Billy and the other staff were extremely friendly. Loved it!

Delightful B&B in Historic Williamsburg

Posted Jan 5, 2016 on Hotels
The room was adequate in size, but lacked seating. Also, the sink was outside the bathroom (in the bedroom). There was no counter space in the bathroom. The furnishings were representative of an older B&B in a historic area. The location is great, the breakfast very good and coffee/tea/lemonade available all day. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful.

Sadly, don't expect any sleep

Posted Dec 1, 2015
Sadly we had the equivalent of just 1 night of sleep over the three nights we stayed here. The bed was uncomfortable due to the roll-to but the bigger problem was the noise - made by the other guests. There are only about 8 or so rooms off the same corridor with the breakfast room at one end. From 5.30am every morning (on a weekend too) guests were up and making noise. Most of them thought nothing of having loud discussions in the corridor outside of our door. The inn's staff come in before 7am to deliver fresh coffee and breakfast, which is understandable but the floorboards are incredibly noisy (iIt's important I mention here that this inn is only old by US standards and our last house in the UK was older, so the age of the floorboards is no excuse!). For those visiting the historic triangle, this is a quirky, sweet little inn in exactly the right location for the nicest and historic parts of Williamsburg as well as restaurants and little shops. If however you are also seeking a rest, this may not be the place for you. No fridge or coffee-making facilities in the room is a shame although there was plentiful hot drinks available 24/7 in the breakfast room. Our room (the Conservancy) was laid out strangely (bad use of space and a decrepit wardrobe) with a bath only slightly bigger than a bidet, but the bathroom and shower itself were adequate.
