Our experience

Posted Sep 28, 2016
Pros: Location and friendliness of staff
Very relaxing. Kimberly was wonderful and loved talking with her. Met some very nice people at Cliff House. Loved sitting on the veranda at night, having a drink and talking with other visitors.

Beautiful historic building, friendly staff, paid parking pretty much a must, daily mandatory service fee in addition to room fee is always frustrating

One night stay.

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: The staff and the free breakfast.
Cons: Hotel needs major upgrade.
Location: Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Hotel needs upgraded. Carpeting in dining hall was disgusting. If you don't like older Victorian style hotels then this place isn't for you. The room was also noisy. It felt like living back in the college dormitory. We just stayed one night so it served its purpose. On a positive note. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked their free breakfast. Good location in the town. Shops were easy walking distance.

Great staff

Posted Sep 22, 2016
Excellent service from the start. Antonio was on the spot with the valet parking.(recommend). Front desk staff were quick. The restaurant was excellent. The service was very good. Kimberly and Nathan made sure everything was perfect. The food was just as good. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Would stay here again and refer it to anyone.

Great looking hotel, very poor service

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Great looking hotel but the front desk and restaurant staff was poor. The food was fair. The bellhops and room service staff was great. Overall very disappointed with our stay. Too bad great looking hotel and location.

What an amazing classic hotel...

Posted Sep 19, 2016
This is such a beautiful hotel that was built in 1877 and maintained to perfection. We stayed in the Firestone Suite which was so elegant...and our lunch on the front hotel porch and the breakfast buffet was wonderful too. We felt like we stepped back in time. Seeing all the old photos of Manitou Springs with the Cliff House over the years, really tells the story. We has a great experience and would love to go back.

Excellent staff in a beautiful historic hotel!

Posted Sep 14, 2016
This is a beautifully renovated historic hotel but the staff truly was wonderful. Patrick, David and Tony the valets went above and beyond....they were so helpful with any questions we had about the area and made great suggestions of restaurants, etc. Also the hotel is in a great location downtown ...within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff at this hotel truly made our stay amazing!

Tucked Away, in the middle of Everything

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Virtually everything.
Cons: Some might want a swimming pool, we did not miss not having one.
Location: Miramont Castle is too close by to miss touring. Sampling the various Manitou Springs was fun.
This hotel's location gives a feeling of privacy, but is really just across the street from the back of the retail/dining area. It's hot complimentary breakfast and excellent dining were great options for those times when just wanting to relax around the hotel was desired. The central location and near proximity to area highways made exursions to area attractions easy and efficient. Staff made us feel pampered, were invariably courteous and very helpful with all our needs and questions. The historic feel was very well combined with modern amenities and updated well maintained facilities. The size is large enough to have the desired amenities, but small enough to feel "at home".

Great overall experience with one hiccup.

Posted Sep 11, 2016
This is an excellent place to stay. He only issue we had was our last morning, we had our two year old outside the door. He was just watching the water from the creek from the balcony. The balcony was secure and we were monitoring him. The manager came up and said he had multiple complaints of someone running around the balcony, which was false. My son was loved by our neighbors on both sides. The only person who walked by during that time was a front desk employee who was younger. I don't l ow if it was him, but it was fairly petty. Otherwise, awesome experience. Highly recommend.
