    About this property

Dome Rock Mountain Cabin on 5 Acres, Gorgeous Views

Dome Rock Cabin is nestled on 5 acres that offer magnificent mountain views from every room. Dome Rock mountain is right in your back yard! This 2000 sf cabin is very cozy with its 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and two decks with seating areas and a grill. There is a wood stove in the living room and an enclosed back yard with a swing, tether ball pole, horseshoes and soft ball. Special touches from Renee and Michael will make your romantic getaway or family stay an unforgettable experience. Dome Rock Cabin is located on 5 acres of open land, 15 minutes from both the historic mining and casino town of Cripple Creek and the local delights of Florissant. Enjoy magnificent views of Dome Rock and surrounding rock formations from every window; see if you can spot the edge of Pikes Peak between the ridges off the back porches. We provide all the basics for you: shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, towels, linens, pots and pans, plates, cups and silverware, coffees and teas, cooking oils, condiments, cereals, and spices. We also offer board games, plus old-fashioned outdoor games including tether ball, softball, and horseshoes. Did I mention the views? Just imagine sitting on the back decks having your morning cup of coffee while soaking up the warm Colorado sunshine and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. One of Michael's favorite parts of each day is watching the shadows descend from the tops of the mountains as the sun goes down west of the cabin. We love just relaxing and watching the red-tail hawks soaring above the fields. This is the perfect place to enjoy the clean air and Colorado outdoors. Feel free to stroll the roads around the neighborhood with your kids and your dogs; near the entrance to Ranch Resorts they will both be thrilled to get up close to the fence with the llamas. Whether you use Dome Rock Cabin as a base for exploring the surrounding small towns and nature adventures, or as a spot to just sit and relax in the shadows of the mountains, we know you will come away from your stay refreshed and relaxed. You will surely appreciate the less crowded roads, the offbeat little stores and old mining towns, and all the opportunities for natural adventures in a part of the state far less familiar to many visitors to Colorado. Evergreen Station is close by for emergency shopping, gas, and a good selection of beers, and you are just 5 miles from more groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. Easy trips to Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and Manitou Springs/Garden of the Gods. If you’re looking to venture even further, drive 36 miles down to Colorado Springs (45 minute drive) or 70 miles to Breckenridge (an hour and twenty minutes), a beautiful ski resort town. The Cripple Creek-Florissant area is a secluded and mountainous region rich with wildlife--we have seen several foxes, a family of mountain sheep, and a mother black bear with two cubs! In our own back yard we met up with a badger, we have plenty of ground squirrels, and don't be surprised to wake up to a herd of as many as 30 mule deer hanging out in the front or back fields (note their larger than regular ears). Neighbors have reported seeing mountain lions on the rock formation to the north. The area between Cripple Creek and Florissant is one of our favorite places because it includes the Fossil Beds National Monument, a green space and reserve of 6000 acres that will never be developed. The park is a very interesting day trip for adults and kids alike, and as you enter Florissant there is even a shop where you can sit and search through shale brought in for your own real fossils (taken from the Monument by careful extraction, the only spot in the US that allows this activity). We are available for guest contact at any time. There is a lockbox on the door. You will be given a code when you book and will be able to check in by yourself.

Great Views - Private Yard - Feels Like Home

This home has everything you want for a nice get away. You enter the home to a big mud room where you can remove your boots and store them on the racks provided for you. Then there is the living area with huge TV, wood burning stove, plenty of cozy seating to relax or take a nap. The kitchen has a dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, three choices of coffee makers, a pass thru window in to a huge dining area/sun room. Two bedrooms downstairs, two bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has an office space with a large wooden desk. There is a front loading washer and a front loading dryer just in case you need them. Nice backyard with a six foot fence all around. Large deck, gas grill, picnic table and more. If you happen to be staying on a night when the moon is bright I would recommend you turn off all the lights and sit in the sun room where you will be able to watch the deer from the wall of windows. We had a wonderful time and will be coming back. Thank you Renee for the welcoming gift of fresh bread and muffins which we enjoyed on our first night there watching the wildlife from the windows.

          Light and airy

Large windows throughout provide light and a breeze through the valley everyday we were there kept the cabin cool and fresh. Loved the big east looking windows in the dining room, had my morning coffee there everyday watching the sunrise over the mountains. Had no problems finding the place or getting in. The cabin was well stocked, the large yard was great for pets, and the area was very quiet due to the spacing of the neighbors. I had no trouble contacting Renee when I needed to and found her pleasant and easy to deal with.

            Girls Getaway

Upon arriving at the cabin, I was very impressed by the cleanliness, the accuracy of the posting, the amentities, etc. We only stayed for one evening and didn't check in until around 9:00 p.m. I wish we would have gotten there at check-in time (3:00) to give us more time to enjoy the property. It was more than perfect.

              Piece of peace.

Clean and nicely upgraded with high-end furnishings.....great shower. Nice personal touches like fresh bread and biscuits. Large bedrooms with good storage. Excellent for extended stays and family cooking. Cooling must be regulated by opening and closing at the appropriate time. Also, make good use of ceiling fans. Houses in CO. do not have air-conditioning because of cool nights. We were able to keep the temperature comfortable. The drive is not bad to stock up with food and supplies. Good access to local camping. I would considerate for my next trip to Lonetree, CO.
