Do not stay on the first floor!
Posted Aug 13, 2016 on Hotels
The first night of our stay was lovely, and I was very confused whey there were any negative reviews of the hotel. That promptly changed Tuesday morning and only got worse by checkout on friday morning. We were on the first floor, room 186. Every morning at 6am, the sound of people moving above us was so loud, it shook the walls in the room. The hotel's response the first time was that they would talk to the person above, but it continued, as new people checked in every night. The second time, they offered to "send an engineer" into our room to see if they could do something??? Ridiculous. Then they offered to move us. Doubletree, this is not a solution, this is an inconvenience. We should be moved, AND compensated, for not being able to sleep past 6am on our vacation for 4 straight nights. It is a giant pain to pack up all your things and move to a different room. We should have been compensated, whether by a free night or some sort of dining credit, for having had a poor night, AND been moved. But with 2 phone calls and a personal stop at the front desk at checkout, still, nothing was offered. We were not looking for a way to pinch pennies or squeeze free stuff out of the hotel. We were looking for our experience to be made right in some way. They will not see us again.

We are sorry to hear that your experience was less then exceptional. Our staff has been trained to handle all guest issues, and resolve to exceed their expectations. It sounds like we fell short of that mark with you. I will be sharing your comments with the team in an effort to prevent this type of situation from happening again. Thank you very much for your time.
