Never Again - An embarrassment to Hiltons

Posted Nov 23, 2016
Pros: The hard worker and other in the morning at breakfast. The free cocktails are nice and it is nice to go get a glass of wine,
Cons: close it and get it up to par with the rest of the brand. It's a complete embarrassment.
Location: Not to far from UCCS and Garden of the Gods.
This was terrible. Please don't let them tell you it's under construction but it will be okay... it isn't. There are so many problems I will just list: 1) Hot tub area looks like the construction person had know idea what to do. Tiles not put together. Huge gaps. Looks like it is falling apart. 2) Our room sounded like a fan from the 1940s was trying to resurrect itself. It was loud... but we had already been moved as 3) our original room things like the telephones didn't work and it looked like Goldilocks had been in our bed earlier. 4) They don't hire enough people and They are clearly overworked and underpaid - candy and popcorn on the floors for hours, the NICEST guy in THE WORLD helping with breakfast, but he was THE ONLY ONE for the ENTIRE HOTEL!!!! 5) our room was non smoking but reeked of smoke, when I asked (before we got our stuff in if we could even go to another Hilton hotel that would live up to the Hilton name for the same price...(I'm a Hilton honors member) they said they couldn't and that they were booked (baloney) . 6) Safety is a huge concern as anyone can just come in through the restaurant/bar... and anyone can drink there too! hey never checked our room keys etc. 7) Lastly (although I could write more... ) Our shower was terrible too. I am married to a plumber... the shower head wasn't on tight and the whole mechanism didn't work. I haven't had that bad a shower in a LONG LONG time - didn't drain either... RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL

Disappointing Stay

Posted Nov 15, 2016
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
Cons: Major construction was going on inside the hotel during our stay. Half of the first floor atrium was being gutted. Machinery was running inside the hotel from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The place was a mess, only one elevator was accessible, and marked exits were locked or blocked. When we asked the staff about the use of the fitness room, which was inside the construction zone, we were first told that we could go to the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn down the road to use theirs. Then we were told that we could use the fitness center at the Embassy Suites in the construction area only between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., because the construction crews started at 7:00. I understand that repairs and alterations must be made, but this was major stuff. There comes a time when the hotel should close, especially when it affects the safety of occupants. Inaccessible exits, the noise and dirt was unacceptable.
Location: This was a fairly good location. Several restaurants were nearby.

Not the room we selected!

Posted Sep 27, 2016
The only reason we decided for this hotel was because of the offer for a room with a mountain view. Paid Expedia extra to have that one secured! At check-in, no selected room available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just what we wanted

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Although the hotel shows a few signs of age, we found it to be comfortable and well suited to our needs. Other reviews have complained about the bathroom being small and it is, but it was adequate for us.
