Nice hotel close to the Air Force Academy

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: The closeness to activities - golf, USAFA, restaurants
Cons: The facilities are a little outdated and could stand refreshing.
Breakfast was outstanding, especially the fellow who prepared the omelets. Room was missing a hair dryer, but the staff got us one very quickly.

NICE HOTEL

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Clean, convenient, affordable.
Cons: No fan in the bath so the room fills with steam with a warm shower. The soap dispenser did not work well and we went to the store to purchase a bar.
The hotel is located right off the main highway so it's easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff very polite and helpful.

Home away from home!

Posted Aug 13, 2015
It was so nice! The lobby was gorgeous and the staff was super friendly. We ate at the Falcon's Bar and Grill. It was soooo good. I've never liked unsweetened tea, but I've fallen in love with theirs. The breakfast is also to die for. We ate by the lobby's fireplace every morning. The food btw is restaurant quality, not motel crappy. They'll make omelets right in front of you however you like and waffles. The pool was also clean and heated! Even though it is in the lobby, the chlorine smell was nonexistent. They also had towels fully stocked by the pool. The room I stayed in had two queen beds. It was a good size (not too big, not too small). The maids also came by everyday and always made sure we had clean towels. Across the street from the hotel is a dollar tree, walmart, and a mall. I didn't have a car the first day there, but there were cross walks everywhere and lots of stores and restaurants were across the street. I had also booked a trip for four days and could only stay for the first two days (due to family issues). I talked with the hotel and expedia and was able to get a full refund on the last two day that I couldn't stay. They are very accommodating and care about their visitors to the fullest! Next trip I take to Colorado Springs (next year hopefully), I will be returning to the Academy Hotel.

Dirty dirty dirty

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Paint falling off the walls. bathroom was nasty! Something splashed all over the walls in bathroom. Remenents of a party decor still on the walls. Otherwise it was ok. Hotel was rated 3 1/2 ☆ more like 2☆. Staff was nice. Breakfast was ok. Arrived an hour before breakfast shut down and they were already out of 1/2 the items and they never restocked it. There was a electric problem we were unawareally of in our room and the maintenance guy came to fix at 8 am. Ask why it could not wait till we were gone and he said it was very dangerous. Then why did they put us in that room in the 1st place.

Nice hotel, close to several restaurants, shops

Posted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: The relaxing atmosphere, the cleanliness, the convenient location, the indoor pool, and the staff.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is the bathtub didn't drain real fast. Simple fix I'm sure.
Location: Close to Highway 25 where you can zip to Garden of Gods in about 15 min. or so. Many nice restaurants close by on Academy Blvd.
My husband, son and I stayed at Academy Hotel in Colorado in August, 2015. My son really enjoyed getting in the indoor pool each morning. We enjoyed the great breakfast buffet. This is a very nice hotel, but not so fancy that you feel uncomfortable. It has a very relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. The staff was great, and we also enjoyed having the bar and grill in the hotel and being able to get our food and sit anywhere whether in the bar or in the lobby; or maybe just sit by the beautiful fireplace and sip a glass of wine. The room also had a fridge and microwave which was nice and there is a work out facility as well (although we didn't get there) and things for the kids to do like ping pong, Wii, etc. The only thing I would request next time, would be to have a room on the side where we had a view of the mountains. There was, however, a large window just outside our room in the hall with a great view of God's beautiful mountains. I even contacted the hotel after returning home to request some information on an item in the hotel that I really liked and wanted to purchase for our home, and they had the information for me within a matter of minutes! All in all, I think this is a great hotel and if we get back that way, I will be reserving a room there. The hotel is really pretty with several lighted trees in the lobby, plenty of sitting places and, did I mention, a beautiful fireplace. Book a room at this hotel......I don't think you will be disappointed!
