Really good location close to most of the restaurant and the market where you can get a really good bargain.

Excellent location and friendly staff

Posted Nov 29, 2017
This hotel is centrally located, easy to walk to all major attractions in 10-20 min. Free breakfast in the morning is good, although not fancy, and the lady in breakfast room is very friendly. The room is clean although it is small compare with hotel in US. But it is in Rome, expected. The staff in hotel is nice and eager to help us for calling taxi.

Hotel solis Rome

Ideally located for colosseum and forum. This is a no frills hotel but staff were nice and helpful and rooms were basic but acceptable for our 3 nights.

Excellent location

Posted Oct 27, 2017
Three of us stayed in one room, 4 nights, late October. Without exception the staff were very pleasant, and most accommodating in speaking English to us: they gave directions for walking, taking public transport, suggestions for restaurants. Munir at the front desk was especially helpful- when (stupidly! travel-brain!!) I left my cell phone in a taxi, Munir called the cab company, found the driver, and had the phone delivered to the hotel. My eternal gratitude to the honest and kind taxi driver, as well. The room and bathroom were updated and spotless, and beautifully decorated. There is a bit of noise from the street at night, but no more than one would expect in any large city. The area seemed safe, definitely walkable throughot evening hours: many restaurants, bars, mini-markets, and gelateria within 2 blocks. Don't be put off by the somewhat worn furniture or the smallish dimensions of the lobby, coffee bar, or breakfast room: the renovated room accommodations more than make up for it. Accessing the second and third floors in an historic building is a charming, if slightly complicated, combo of elevator and stairs. For that reason, perhaps not a place for small children. However, we saw several families with school-aged children. I would recommend this hotel without reservation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- great value -- and plan to return.

Basic hotel. A bit overpriced for what you get.

Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Location is excellent, only a 5 minutes walk from Coliseum, and 15-20 minutes walk to Rome Termini train station.
Cons: 1) Staff lacking energy and did not seem motivated to help; almost felt like not asking them questions or anything due to the poor vibe they were giving off. 2) Wifi is only available when you stand in the reception. Zero wifi in the rooms themselves. We had 3 rooms and none had wifi so not just isolated to 1 room. 3) Mobile reception is near zero most of the time unless you stand right next to the window or go down to the reception. 4) Breakfast pretty basic and bland. Croissants seemed stale, and bread not fresh. 5) Room was not cleaned on one day; when insisted on this we were given a 'disgusted' look. Towels not replaced, and when asked for fresh ones they had run out somehow. 6) Front door is locked, so if you go out and come back the door is locked. Need to ring buzzer to wake up the member of staff to open the door. Pros 1) Coffee and juice and breakfast were good. 2) Waiting staff at breakfast were much better than reception staff. 3) Location is excellent, only a 5 minutes walk from Coliseum, and 15-20 minutes walk to Rome Termini train station.

Location and nice lady at breakfast counter

Posted Aug 25, 2017
Positives -Location (close to colosseum and walking distance to other tourist spots) -Nice lady serving breakfast Negatives -Carpet is rundown(literally falling apart) -Room is small and needs updating -Beds are okay, cots not so much Overall - less than 3 star for North American standard so be very cautious when booking supposed "3" star in Europe. I think Europe standards put a high value in location than condition of the hotel when giving star rating to the hotels.

great location and customer service

Posted Aug 25, 2017
The hotel is perfectly located, just a few steps from the Forums, a few blocks from the Coliseum and other Roman must-sees, and the Metro, if you're wanting to go farther afield. There are several good restaurants in the area as well. The front desk staff was friendly, courteous, and very accommodating, and the breakfast was fresh and attended to by pleasant staff. We stayed there both at the beginning and end of our trip to Italy. Our first room was very nicely appointed, but extremely small; we requested a larger room for our second stay, and this was done.
