Nice motel. Not too commercial.Posted Sep 23, 2015
Pros: It was roomy. Convenient location. Well maintained.
Cons: The carpets had been shampooed the night before and the room smelled a little musty. We opened windows and that made it better.
Location: Close to a grocery and a Starbucks. Easy access to freeway.
Surrounded by nice gardens. Quiet at night. Accepted our dog who is well behaved and housebroken.

Poor Customer SerivecePosted Aug 30, 2015 on Hotels
Customer Sevices very poor. Asked if any dinning at the river front manger said no she didn't know that down on the river front had over three places to get some dinner. The manager will sit right outside our motel door and smoke cigars making the room smell. At this point if I wasn't so tired and hunger I would of called Hotel. com and went some where else. Her attitude was not friendly. When she was outside my room having a smoke and watched us walk into the room I walked my dog right by her, I had paid for my room weeks ahead with the idea it was a pet friendly motel and already paid for.The next day she charged me $100. for my dog said I didn't tell her about my dog. The manger attitude was not friendly. I will never stay here again and never recommend this Sunset Motel.

Great ValuePosted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Perfect for a short term stay.
Cons: Sadly, the view of the Gorge was limited because of trees.
Location: See above.
Sunset Motel met my needs in terms of location, staff friendliness, cleanliness, comfort, and amenities. It's right down the street from Egg River Café and within walking distance of many stores and other businesses. Still, it feels private, and the price was excellent compared to other area options.

It wasn't terrible, not worth $100 a night though. That is for sure. The customer service was very weird. Not friendly and kind of awkward.

Sunset MotelPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Room had fridge, microwave, newer tv, two beds as requested and was roomy. Nice to be able to park car right outside our door. Quiet at night.
Cons: nothing - it was fine
Location: As above - across street from Safeway and other stores
Sunset Motel was easy to find in Hood River. Good location across street from Safeway, RiteAid, McDonald's and others.

Affordable and convenientPosted Aug 19, 2015
My husband and I needed a place to stay on our way home from a trip to Portland and this was one of the least expensive options on Expedia. We really aren't hotel snobs and just wanted a clean place for the night and we were very pleased! The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and it's conveniently across the street from Safeway so we were able to buy groceries for a cheaper dinner instead of eating out; plus it has a fridge and microwave! Overral good value for the price and would happily stay there again. :)

Nice local hotelPosted Aug 14, 2015 on Hotels
My niece and I stayed here for 3 nights in August as part of a hiking vacation. The hotel is a small local place with 2 floors and no elevator. It's quiet and very clean with comfortable beds. The motel is located a few miles outside of Hood River but it's close to several fast food places and a Walmart. We were pleased with our stay and would return if we're ever back in Hood River.
