Hayden Falls Park is a two acre pocket park hidden right under the noses of thousands of daily commuters. There is not much signage and only a few parking spots located on the western shore of the Scioto River near the Griggs Reservoir bridge. A set of steps leading down to a boardwalk and an overlook were constructed in 2006.
In the winter, the fall freezes and creates a dazzling 35ft ice curtain formation with tiny trickles heard running behind the shale walls.
In the spring, after the snow melt or a heavy downpour, the water roars over the falls and drowns out the urban noise pollution and it's easy to forget that you are just feet from 45mph thoroughfare.
In the summer, the water slows and the sound changes to that of a gentle shower. The rocky walls of the gorge the encompass the falls are exposed and ferns find a way to take hold.

#localgem A twelve foot tall, limestone slab sculpture of Wyandot Indian, Chief Leatherlips sits atop the hill overlooking the Scioto River to the west at Scioto Park in Dublin.
The Dublin Arts Council commissioned the work and dedicated it in Scioto Park on July 1, 1990. The park is believed to be the location Chief Leatherlips' last hunting camp.
In 1810 he was executed by tomahawk on the orders of his brother, Roundhead, for being too friendly with the white settlers. #FindingtheUniverse A great blue heron (Ardea herodias) perched atop the dam at Griggs reservoir. Beautiful and easy to get to, you can virtually drive up to the falls. Go early morning in late spring to beat the crowd or after a good rain. A root beer float minus the liquid carbonation made by pairing the sweet cream and root beer ice creams. A favorite of my walk at Hayden Run Falls. Spring has fully arrived and the bushes and trees have finally decided to show off their beauty. The Riverway Kiwanis Park is located along the East shore of the Scioto River, at the north end of Griggs Reservoir. This park provides a boardwalk nature-trail through the wetlands along the river. Gulab Jamun; fried cheese balls soaked in a sweet syrup. Sort of like eating cheesy hush puppies that took a swim in maple syrup. Shrimp Korma in a curry and cream sauce with cashews and raisins, served with basmati rice. The undulating gelatinous form of the wood ear mushroom (Auricularia auricula-judae).
The Latin name refers to the biblical character of Judas, who hung himself from a tree.
The Riverway Kiwanis Park is well hidden in plain sight. The entrance is off of a busy road along the Scioto River, but I've managed to overlook it for years.

The turkey vulture scavenges by smell, to pick up the scent of ethyl mercaptan, a gas produced by the beginnings of decay in dead animals.

#FindingtheUniverse An odd copper building set atop a circle mound with misc household item cut out of the rooftop. Apparently fed up with Plankton's infinite failed attempts to 'borrow' the Krabby Patty recipe from the Krusty Krab, the Pint Room in Dublin, OH has concocted is own; a kobe beef patty topped with a jumbo lump meat crab cake garnished with tomato, avocado, arugula and a spicy mayo on a brioche bun. Fried rice stir fried with egg and garlic basil, shrimp, onion, carrot, bean sprouts and green onion. Bottle caps. Ale washed deep fried pickle chips. Egg roll, spring roll and barbeque meatballs. The Asiago Burger topped with Fresh Mozzarella, Crispy Prosciutto, Roasted Tomato, Arugula, Garlic and Lemon Aioli with a side of sweet potato fries. I have no idea! Likely some sort of bluish-gray decay fungus growing out of the ground. The Hollywood burger, 1/3lb black Angus seasoned patty, roasted poblano pepper, Gruyere, crispy onions and Chipotle mayo. Tadka mixed biryani - Basmati rice simmered with elaborate spices, chicken, lamb, shrimp, and finished in a sealed vessel. Essentially, an enormous Indian pot pie with an entire chicken drumstick hidden inside. Bullet naan - Leavened refined flour bread coated with onions and green chilies made in a tandoor.

This artfully arranged plate consists of a roll with Red Snapper, White Tuna, Crab Meat and Cream Cheese, then deep fried with the usual accoutrements of pickled ginger and wasabi. Dublin, OH New location for this chain. Can't remember the name of this dish. But it was quite good. Good Ramen. Fukuryu's Junk Ramen bowl. That's the name. Not my opinion of it. It is a ramen bowl with no broth. Perhaps my favorite dish here so far.
