A bit above average hotel

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: It is close to MS State.
Cons: The hotel needs a thorough cleaning and improved staffing, especially for the cost per night.
Location: Close to MS State, Walmart, and a variety of dining experiences, which is perfect for moving a child into college.
Hilton Garden Hotel in Starkville, MS is an acceptable hotel to sleep in if you plan to spend the majority of your time with your college child moving him into MS State, for it is close to campus. It is not an acceptable hotel to vacation at for it appeared run down, under staffed, and somewhat dirty (elevator floors sticky, foreign hairs on the shower wall upon move-in, etc.).

It was very nice. I was a little

Posted Aug 2, 2015
I was a little disappointed that my room was handicap accessible without my request. I wish I had know this upon checking in. I was in a tight schedule and did not have time to talk to front desk about changing rooms. Water from the shower ran all over floor and made the floor slippery to walk on. The hotel was very nice. Staff was very friendly

Convenient location

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: Good hot breakfast cooked to order. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The elevator got stuck in the morning but finally opened after two minutes. The room was dirty.
Location: Close to downtown.
The nice setting and lobby made me think the room would be nicer than it was. The room was extremely basic and seemed outdated and old. My issue was with cleanliness. There was hair in the sink when I arrived, hair in the bed (which makes me think the sheets had not even been changed), and the toilet seat was filthy (the one thing you really want to be clean at a hotel). The bed was comfortable, but the duvet was dingy and needed to be replaced. I will not be staying here again, despite the top-notch staff friendliness.

Excellent hotel

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: Staff, bar, room, and convenient
Cons: Nothing
Location: Mississippi State and downtown
From the time walking in the door, you feel welcomed. Checking in, I was asked if I would like to leave a credit card for extra charges. Not give me a credi card. First class all the way.

In and out

Posted Apr 26, 2015 on Hotels
It was fine. The side door key pad doesn't work so we had to schlep around the hotel every time we needed in. No fun in rain and lots of luggage. We were there late and left early. Hard to say.
