Tried to call ahead 2 hours prior to check-in - 5 times without an answer at the front desk. Upon arr. to check-in at 4:15pm, there was noone present in the office. I called while waiting in the lobby & heard the office phone ring & ring. No answer. After waiting about 20 mins, I decided to call customer service, but as I was dialing the employee came out. He didn’t apologize for the delay. We told him we’d been waiting for 20 mins, he told us that’s not true it’s only been 5. He said he had to help a guest with a roller bed. Seems there were staffing issues. We paid & we were placed in rm 125. Upon entering the room, we could instantly tell it hadn’t been cleaned. We found a baby doll lying on the ground next to the bed. The tv stopped working in the middle of the night & the vending machine in the hall steals customer money. The next morning we couldn’t wait to get out of this hotel. We decided to take hot showers to clean up before our 2 1/2 hour trip home. While in towels we received a knock on the door from staff citing the smoke detector had detected smoke in the room & they needed to check it out. Not only were we thinking this was a scam or some kind of setup as there was absolutely no smoking in our room, but it was a breach of our privacy as we are in our towels. I opened the door to show him, he obliged & apologized for the disturbance. There was another knock at 12pm, asking if we planned to extend or leave as we have bags in hand, headed to the doorway. Refund?
