This is a historic building. So I really appreciated the history behind it. Kind of like stepping back in time. The room I stayed in was nice, with a king size bed. Unfortunately, the mattress on one side was completely sunken in. It needed to be replaced. Essentially, you could not sleep in the middle as you would literally roll down into the bad side of the mattress. When I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk when I was checking out, she never apologized or showed any empathy. She turned to the side and started writing the issue in a log next to her. I told her I even had pictures to show. She briefly looked at them and said NOTHING. I was shocked that this woman in a customer service roll, did not have any decency or respect to even apologize. That's all I was looking for. I was not looking for a discount or anything. Just an apology. And she couldn't give that. Westin - You need to seriously spend some time and properly train your front desk on good customer service. I will NOT be staying at this hotel again.

Except for valet staff, other staff. We're unhelpful. Waiting staff very poor, food was not warm. Got better service at a Holiday inn. Rooms are ridiculously small.

I stayed just one night for business. The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant bar was good, nice to have it open until 10p The room looked new and updated, bathroom perfect, except toilet paper of course was horrible. Shower tile newer with complimentary soaps which I like. However the bed was unacceptable. The mattress was very old with worn depression over both the right and left side of the bed with a hump in the middle and on the ends. Very difficult to be comfortable in that bed investing in new mattresses is a must for this facility.

This property looks very run down abd the service is not up to standards for a Westin , do not know if it is being renovated or was renovated w very poor taste/finish …. Smells musty and staff at entry was not professional except for one lovely lady that showed us the parking lot behind property - wish I had her name ….

A lovely old hotel, with a good restaurant, connected to an "opera house", which was an excellent venue for a concert. So nice to park only one time and have dinner, attend the concert, and spend the night.

First, they lied about the parking. DO NOT PARK IN THEIR PARKING LOT! There’s a much cheaper option right behind their parking lot. Second, the AC didn’t work. They gave me a second room. Still didn’t work. Then they had a guy from “engineering” come to my room to change the filter. Whoop die do.

I booked and paid in advance for a King room. When I went to do the pre-check in, it showed a Queen. I called and was told there weren't any available but then was told he would take care of it for me. We checked in and got a very small queen room. Had to lean toward bed to avoid hitting head on TV. Refridgerator sitting on the floor. The lids for the coffee cups were too big for the cups. For $275/night, just expected a bit nicer. Waiting for price adjustment. Also, valet parking was supposed to be $35 (same price for self park) and I was charged $40.

Loved the beautiful lobby with high ceilings and gorgeous chandeliers. Vintage touches from a bygone era. Nicely updated and current throughout. Engineered wood flooring in rooms is a nice touch. We were charged for a king room that we reserved but we're given a double without being told at check-in. Monica at front desk next morning was more than helpful and paid for our lunch at the on site restaurant. Nice touch! It is unfortunately located directly across the street from the city bus terminal. Didn't feel safe walking outside on my own.

Disappointed recent stay at Westin Great Southern
The hotel isin need of repair and "deep" clean. Our room smelled horrible, as did the hallways, the shower had mold, the curtains were stained with what looked like tomato sauce, the bed sheets were dirty (black spots and hair), sink lacked pressure and ice machine on floor was broken.

Hotel was decent, not quite what we expected. I called the hotel after we left because I thought I left some of my belongings behind and I felt like they dismissed my concerns. Most likely will not be staying here again.

The historic architecture makes this hotel a great space to stay. It does need a little TLC. Simple things like cleaning the glass doors at entry could go a long way. For the price- it’s a great deal. It’s downtown - across from the court of common pleas. It’s not in the Short North area where there’s walkable dining/shopping but their restaurant is good and provides room service.

Love building and lobby but rooms need updating
The hotel itself is beautiful, however, the room are in desperate need of updating. The carpet in our room had big stains everywhere not to mention the uneven floors. The coffee table had a thick layer of dust over it. The hallways smell ok after they spray whatever freshener they use but I the evenings that fades and it smells like smoke. They really need to tear out the carpets everywhere. They are just old, dingy, and smelly.

The doors are not soundproof nor lightproof, so when there was a dog barking incessantly at 11pm and people were in the hallway you can hear absolutely everything. The hotel otherwise was beautiful, clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly.
