Best resort we've been to

Pros: The staff. Fantastic.
Cons: If the beach was private. But even it being public isn't that bad, not many people. And the locals hook you up with tours!
Location: So many excursions. Talk to the concierge or the locals on the beach ( Erik, in particular )
1. THE STAFF IS AMAZING 2. Food is fantastic, and many options. 3. Pool and rooms are Gorgeous 4. WE CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN.

Enjoyable

Pros: Location
Cons: Restaurant reservation requirements during low season was obnoxious.
The resort is beautiful and huge. Transportation was not a problem but make sure your room is close to the pool and restaurants. The beach is beautiful but difficult to walk on because it is soft, crushed shells. Water was perfect and refreshing. The pool could be cleaner, and was warm. Some restaurants need reservations....but when you arrive for your late reservation the restaurant was empty? Breakfast is good but is the same everyday. There are many vendors on your way to the beach that offer excursions. They are persistent but not pushy. We booked many excursions through them and they are honest and a lot of fun! I also had a $20 massage by one of the women on the beach and it was awesome!

My short experience in the hotel was amazing. All the staff were increible which is difficult to find this days.

Nice property, amazing staff!

Pros: The staff was amazing and hotel grounds are nicely kept.
Cons: The nightlife and entertainment definitely needs improvement. There isn't much to do any night. Just the Imperial bar which is small.
We were at this property for a wedding and had a nice time. The staff at the hotel is truly the best. Everyone at the pool bar - Carlos Rosales, Juan Barantes, Jose Perez, Carlos Cancante, Bryan Bustos, Donald Garcia – was exceptional. The hotel property is enormous but there is transportation available to take you from place to place. The pool area is quite large and very well kept. Our initial room had water leaks and we were quickly transferred to a different room. My main complaint about the hotel is the nightlife and entertainment, which doesn't offer much. There's only the Imperial Bar and if the hotel is full, it's impossible to order. The other complaint is related to the restaurant options on their “slow” days. During low season, just a couple of restaurants are open on some weekdays. That isn't enough to accommodate the hotel guests and it was impossible to have dinner those days. The buffet was closed those days and it absolutely should remain open as an option. Guests are paying top dollar for this resort and should have more options.

Nice Resort but Could Be Better

Overall the Westin is a good place to stay you can't go wrong but with everything there's things they excel at and things that could be better !!! First off is the whole Towel Card thing it ridiculous getting towels waste of time and inconvient I'm spending 6k for my family to stay there just have towels available around the pool area secondly the food there's a lot of room for improvement there lunch at Spirula and Carocoala are good Buffet breakfast hit and miss the Italian Joint and Las Condelas are good chinese place needed some help !!! food was way off ordered chicken pad Thai got egg noodle soup with chicken and everyone's food was that way menu said one thing it didn't come out that way the in addition the Brazilian like BBQ place sucked !!! I'm not even gonna go there stay away. Pool Bar guys are great and did a great job along with a few others we met there wish I could remember they're names. So overall the Westin Playa Conchal is good and they do a better job with the check in too could be better but it is what it is. The Westin is a good place to stay overall it's a solid 4.1 could be way better if they fixed a few little things with good / better food and fixed the towels and improved the customer service in a few small areas. the grounds and rooms were outstanding condition and the beach was good too no real complaints there 8/24/17-8/31/17

Great hotel, great staff, steps from the beach

Amazing stay! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the restaurants offered varied food options, the pool bar was great, the staff at the activity center always had a smile on their face! Can't wait to go back!

Beware of thetf by cleaning people in rooms !

During our stay a piece of cloth was stolen from my wife's luggage in our locked room. When we reported the thetf to the management the security agent said we "may have lost the item". We reported the name of the cleaning lady on duty that day - the only person having accessed the room - and showed a picture of the stolen item. When checking out we asked again for an update on the investigation but again were told we cannot call it theft as there is no proof... The hotel manager on duty was not very concerned and said we should receive an update within a few days. We came back home 10 days ago and still no news from the hotel. Very disappointing experience for our family!

Perfect, secluded, lots of animals to see roaming

Pros: Secluded feeling. Excellent food and varied restaurants. Good snorkeling off beach.
Perfect, secluded, lots of animals to see roaming around as it is built in the jungle! Beautiful rooms and pool. Excellent food. If I visit Costa Rica this is the place I will go. I stayed at other Costa Rica Hotels and the do not come close.
