Fantastic Anniversary Trip!!

My husband and I took our 3 teenage kids to stay at this wonderful resort in the Conchas Chinas area of Puerto Vallarta for a week. We stayed in one of their 3 bedroom residences, and there was more than enough room for all of us. The rooms were beautifully appointed, clean and so comfortable. Each bedroom was en suite, so we never had to wait to clean up or dress. The pools are clean, the lounge chairs overly comfortable, and the staff was fantastic. From the bell staff to the front desk everyone at the front of the house was welcoming and friendly. I have to give extra kudos to Victor in the restaurant. He was the best waiter, and got to know our family's tastes so well. We were never short for delicious pastries and fresh mango at breakfast. The food was so great!! Please make sure you get up to the Gin Joint on the top floor of the hotel. Amazing views of all of the bay, from Mismaloya to Puerto Vallarta and beyond. A can't miss for sunset drinks.

Perfect Getaway

Loved it here and was sad to go. Everyone was so nice and treated us well. Their English was perfect which helped because my boyfriend doesn't speak Spanish and mine is not great. The room and views were amazing. The poolside service we received was excellent. The staff seem happy to work there and were very accommodating. Daniel was awesome in setting up our shuttle service even though I messed up the timing he still got it corrected right away. Breakfast comes with the room we purchased and the food was great. We ate at Casiano's one night and you can tell them your dietary restrictions and the chef surprises you with a 3 or 5 course meal. La Mar is also great and sits at the top of the hotel with amazing views as well. The infinity pool is at the La Mar restaurant and is just awe. You do get a $60 credit ($30 for restaurant and $30 for spa) and trust me use it on both. We did the 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was probably one of the best ones I have ever had. Bonus is there is room service 24/7. We did not even leave the hotel the entire time we were there. Can't wait to go back again!

Secluded, empty resort

Pros: The views.
Cons: The way the hotel staff resolves issues and treats guests.
Location: It's a half hour ride from the airport. You need to take cabs everywhere since this resort is on top of a hill. There's nothing in walking distance.
Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs from the moment you walk in. I only saw a handful of guests at the resort so if you're looking for a hotel that's quiet and lonely, this is it. If your booking includes a "resort credit" this means the hotel chooses how they will allow you to spend the credit which was very disappointing. My experience here was OK up until I discovered that all of my cash was stolen from my wallet in my room and my Ray-Ban sunglasses were missing on my second day of the trip. The hotel staff started an "investigation" which meant they checked cameras and talked to the maid in our room. At the time of check-out they said they checked the maid's stuff and found nothing, and they asked her if she took anything and she said, "no" so there's not much more they can do. Since we had this unfortunate experience and since the staff did not do much to help, I asked if an item or two could be taken off our final resort bill just to supplement for our stuff being stolen and for the awful experience and they said no. As I was walking out of the resort to head to the airport, all of the staff were standing by the door watching me leave and didn't say a word which is very strange here because all guests are talked to/greeted/etc whenever a staff member sees you. Overall, I would never come here again. Appears as if staff members play an act to be friendly up until you give them a issue and they won't treat you the same as they initially did.

Nice Quiet Hotel

Hotel was very large and clean. Offered many options for food and drinks. Got a lot of room service and drinks and bill was very cheap by the end of the stay. Hotel staff was extremely prompt and courteous. Hotel staff was great at providing suggestions for things to do. Hotel staff seemed a little nervous, which could make us as guest uncomfortable at times. Location is a little away from downtown, but hotel offers shuttle down every hour; taxis also very cheap ($5USD for a ride into town). Very quiet and relaxing overall, would recommend!

The staff was super friendly remembered our names the entire trip. Fabulous drinks! Very easy to cordinate activitys. Pools are never full, very relaxing. Great setting up in the mountains. Cheap cabs into town.

Excellent hotel with reservations

Pros: The views and spacious rooms. Great tomato and watermelon gazpachos in two of their restaurants. The staff was always pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Remove the no-menu restaurant and go with something that serves fresh, local fare in season.
Location: The location provides great views, but there is nothing to do nearby without wheels. The beach, shopping and ziplining all require taxi or shuttle.
The hotel is beautiful with amazing views and our jacuzzi suite was spacious, clean and beautiful. There are 2 caveats for first time visitors like us: 1) The site is way up the hill far from the main eating and shopping area of Puerta Vallarta, so going anywhere but the hotel requires shuttle or taxi. 2) Avoid the no-menu restaurant. All of the food at the hotel was good to excellent except the most expensive meal at the no-menu restaurant. This was the both the worst and most expensive meal we had during days in MX. The food was frozen and overcooked across all three courses and anything but the advertised customized for us. When told about this at checkout, all we got was a weak 'we are sorry'. Also the new construction next door is ruining views on the north end of the building.

It was a very nice service, food, beatiful view., pools, gym etc. But the only thing that upset me was the list of money in the room. There were no doubts about that. My mom left her purse over the bed with money 500 pesos and 25 dollars during a frame time of 1:30 to 6:00pm. I call security, they supposed investigated but didn't find everything. I couldn't find my money either.

We booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews it had gotten. We can definitely confirm those reviews were 100% accurate. Stunning views. Top notch amenities. Excellent staff and very friendly! Always willing to acommodate whenever possible. We went during July so very humid and low tourist season but everything about the hotel was superb! No direct beach access is the only downfall but the amazing views make up for that and a quick taxi ride or their free shuttle is readily available. Highly recommend Grand Miramar!

Nice hotel

Nice hotel but if you want something closed the beach this is the one of those is up in the hill. Also they said they give you 60 dollars credit but went YOU check in they tell you the you 30 on the spa 30 in the restaurant so if you don't use it there you lose your 60 dollars credit. Which I think is not right what about if you don't want to use it there.

Tons of marble with a view!

Pros: Great Views. Upscale, well maintained property. Excellent service. Great Spa. Good fish tacos at the pool
Cons: At La Mar we had one outstanding meal Cesar Salad /MahiMahi (food and service).One good meal ( at 10pm-just a cesar salad) and one horrible meal
Location: Try Le Kliff restaurant - short cab ride south
Property is beautiful and very well maintained. Fantastic views of the bay from main pool area, rooms, and especially from the 10th floor pool deck and La Mar restaurant, Very friendly and accommodating staff who work hard providing excellent service. I travel a bit so please remember that hotel staff everywhere rely on tips. We usually hate buffets - old, tired food, wait on yourself BUT the included breakfast was a standout - fresh squeezed juices, house made breads and jams, excellent quality food from a small buffet which included some mexican dishes and was regularly replenished (cooked to order items were also available if desired and included in breakfast package). Tamales were the best- incredible masa and wrapped in banana leaves! The service was outstanding from all of the staff. It was a 5 star "sit down" experience in a buffet setting. Spa service was excellent. K is a Spa lover and said the facial was the best she has ever had anywheres. I rented a car and the complimentary valet was excellent. Great free WIFI Hotel is up 10 mins south and at the top of a hill from the main beach and tourist action of PV but there is a regular shuttle into town to Dorado Beach Club on main PV beach. Waiter service on the beach with chairs, umbrellas and towels provided but you will be expected to buy a drink and some nachos Grand M. is quiet,relaxing and not crowded.Not the place to be if you are looking for action but the property quality and views are outstanding
