Thin wallsPosted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Clean - loved the inviting lobby, nice breakfast. Room was very clean - all I needed.
Cons: I could hear everything next door. Can you make an improvement on that?
People next door were loud and I had to turn on tv. Also didn't like mattress.

Great LocationPosted May 28, 2015
Pros: WE liked the proximity to good breakfast/dinner places. It has a western country atmosphere with the ivy covered porch that separates the parking lot
Cons: A mirror in the dressing room would help when two people are getting ready for the day
Location: We love the location. It is walking distance to the shopping center, Kaiser Hospital and most of all The Hickory Pit Restaurant (Others as well).
We stayed at this motel in June 1972 when house shopping. We needed a place close to Berkeley (1/2 hr.) After searching several options we selected Diablo Mountain Inn. It couldn't have been a better choice...close to restaurants, freeway entrance west, great bed, but most of all, we remembered the first time we stayed (for a week 43 years ago). It was perfect. We liked the bathroom dressing area being separate from the sleeping room. It could have used a mirror in the dressing area as we were rushed to get out in the morning. The host gave us a coffee pot and muffins for our early morning departure. We will stay again when we need to be in the east bay.

Why does this need a title?Posted May 9, 2015 on Hotels
Aside from house keeping coming into my room 1.5 hours before check out it was just fine... Very simple and charming place to stay with possibly the best rates in walnut creek.

An okay stay, but a lot of problems.Posted Feb 23, 2014 on Hotels
The neighborhood it's located in is great and convenient. It's located very close to places to eat and public transits within walking distance. They're nicely sized rooms for a short stay and with free Wifi and daily room service. The cons on the other hands, the rooms are very outdated (outdated Televisions and they still use VCRs?) and there is some damage to the floors and walls that need to be repaired. The beds are very uncomfortable - and while the location is convenient, the walls are very thin. So if you don't hear your neighbors in the other rooms, you're going to hear the traffic all night, so hopefully you brought a small fan to block out the noise. There also are no small fridges for your drinks and there are no microwaves in the rooms - so if you have food or drinks, I wouldn't recommend bringing it with you unless you plan on eating it the same day because there's no way of keeping it fresh. I would recommend this hotel only if you are needing something more affordable, or your trip is very short. Otherwise if you can spare a few extra dollars, I would take the other hotels nearby.

Walking distance to shopping, dining and movies!Posted Jan 28, 2014 on Hotels
Small, "Mom & Pop" type of hotel. We have stayed here 3 yrs. now. Rooms clean, excellent location, wonderfully helpful staff.
