We ordered a handicap room for my wife but no grab bars around toilet. No one was at the checkin counter on arrival - had to go hunt for them. Asked for bell service for luggage because I had to help wife in wheel chair - not available. This will be our first & last time here.

Would definitely stay again! Clean, quiet, very friendly and pleasant staff, a quick drive to downtown Walnut Creek, and just 20 minutes from Oakland (we went to see a concert there). A very nice, affordable, weekend get away. Room is exactly as as shown. The attached Bay Club gives it a good local vibe and is an added plus if you want to work out or get some spa services. Bed was super comfy, plenty of outlets for charging devices, room was spacious, surrounding area felt safe and “neighborhoody” but still close to things to do. My only suggestion would be to have coffee and robes stocked for two people instead of one (if two guests are registered) so maybe just check this on arrival and have these brought up. Overall, can’t wait to return next year to enjoy all the beauty Walnut Creek has to offer and will definitely stay at Renaissance again!!

Great Stay
I thought it was. Great hotel for the rate they charge. It was not Luxury but it was very nice clean. They were not stingy on the towels. They provided some amenities that was just right. I’ll definitely stay there again when I visit family in the Bay Area.

Parking fees surprise
The hotel and grounds are nice . The room was so so . I booked on hotels.Com and thought I was getting good Deal. I was there for 22 hours and they charged me 40 for parking . It’s a hidden fee that isn’t disclosed . The parking garage is full from folks going to the gym .

No other hotel competes.
Amazing hotel. I have stayed here for years and it continues to be my favorite hotel. The gym improvements were well needed and exceeded any gym I have been to. Courtney and Luis are both excellent customer service representatives for your hotel.

The mattress topper had feather quills that were poking us throughout the night. We must have pulled out 7 feathers out to make it comfortable though it seemed whenever I rolled over more would come to the surface. It felt uncomfortable to sleep on. If there's option to go feather free, I would do so.

Beds were awful. I expected a lot more from a hotel of this caliber. Toppers were lumpy and fall off the edge of the bed. The lamp on the desk electrocuted me. And the furniture was falling apart. There was hardly any parking because the gym members were all over the place. Everything cost money. The pool was always overcrowded due to gym classes. Gym members take priority over hotel guests.

Renaissance Walnut Creek
The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. There is a lot to offer as far as food, gym and fitness classes too.

Great hotel, poor restaurant!
The Renaissance is a great hotel-the pool is lovely and the access to the Bay Club is a huge benefit (although it was under renovation-it was still great, they're definitely doing their best to make it seamless for their guests!) The restaurant is definitely an exception, it's VERY expensive ($24 for a burger or tacos) and the service is bad, I had to get up and chase the server for more iced tea despite the fact that there were onyl 3 other tables seated at the time. There were crumbs all over the table and floor before I even sat down. I don't mind paying for good food but I wouldn't dine there again!

Lacking as a hotel but thriving as a gym
We checked in about 7pm, there were 4 people at the front desk just standing around & didn’t offer to help bring up our bags ( we had quite a few, we were in town for a wedding ) my son in law had to ask to use the cart. We were put on a hall that all the surrounding rooms the doors were propped open and had large (loud) fans drying out the rooms. Our tub/shower took hours to drain. Sunday morning, none of us showered because we didn’t want the tub to overflow. We were impressed with the gym. They also didn’t add my points as I am a Marriott member. Typically I love staying At Marriott. But I wasn’t impressed. & the rooms looked completely the same as they did in 2004 when we used to live in Walnut Creek.
