Since I know you are busy, and don't have all day to read a long review I will stick to the high points. But make no mistake, our hellish adventure story doesn't end with the account written here.
THREE DAYS prior to our event the property owner informed me my reservation had been cancelled by HomeAway and that she would need to run my credit card again. Lie. She ran my card for a higher amount than the advertised price for the original reservation without my knowledge, or consent. When HomeAway gave her 48 hours to respond she promised me a check via FedEX the following day for the over charging. Lie. She then RETAINED my MasterCard information and used it again for a second transaction 6 days later without my permission. To top it all off she claimed we "froze up the AC" by leaving it 2 degrees cooler than we found it and kept my damage deposit! I've repeatedly asked for copies of the HVAC invoice, and she refuses to provide it.
On a lighter note, the smoke detector battery upstairs started chirping at 3 am, the gas grill wouldn't light, the coffee creamer was expired, the shower head in the Minnie Fisher Suite hardly worked, and the breakfast consisted of microwave oatmeal, coffee, orange juice, bagels, cream cheese, and powdered doughnuts all serve yourself on styrofoam plates. If you are looking forward to the typical gourmet breakfast served with a smile at a more traditional "Bed and Breakfast" you will be disappointed with this property. If you enjoy activities such as cancelling your credit card and disputing charges then this is the property for you!
I have yet to get an apology out of the property owner, only reprimands accusing me of not "reading the instructions" and not "calling her immediately". There were no HVAC instructions, and I'm still waiting on that invoice BTW.
