Hotel and restaurant staff are extremely amicable and helpful which makes one forgive them for the slower service

Location: Mayan ruins - Copan
My group when on an excursion to visit the Mayan ruins. This hotel was selected do to the close proximatity. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. The room was clear. The quality of room furnishing may not be up to US standards, but they were more than adequate for the nights stay. The hotel resturant food was extremely good and very tasty.

Hotel is close to the runes

Posted Apr 21, 2014
was not very happy with this hotel.. the check in staff had my reservations incorrect and spend sometime convincing them that i did have reservations at the hotel and that i paid fully for the rooms. the room was very clean but the bed slide all over the stone floor.. the pool was not clear water but a milky white color and the hot tube did not work and the staff said it would be many days before it would be repaired.. the food at the hotel was not bad but way over priced.. most items were over 13 dollars.. in the town are much nicer places to eat and is only 3 miles away.

Great hotel away from madness of Copan town

Posted Nov 26, 2012
Pros: Location, quietness (no second floors), restaurant, bar
Cons: bumpy road to entrance, open reception and waiting areas (hot in summer?), jacuzzi and pool cold (not heated?), welcoming fruit never given.
Location: a few kilos from town, nice rural area, secluded on hill top with nice views from some rooms and restaurant patios, nice flora all over
A beautiful ranch style hotel with opened spaces and very secure hotel, set in beautiful surroundings overlooking nice vistas especially if you take meals on the outside patio. Ask for rooms at the right side near restauarant area and you'll get nice views from there. I wouldn't want to stay here during very hot weather since the reception and other waiting areas are open so it would be hot. I wanted quietness, and no one above me (no second floor rooms at hotel) and got both so I was happy. Pool was freezing and jacuzzi too so that was a bummer. Restaurant meals were very good; liked the buffets. The long cobblestone road from the main road is rocky so make sure ladies you hold your chest treasures if you don't wear a bra.long I went during Thanksgiving break 22-25 Nov so it was not packed and neither was Copan Ruins, no lines! The town was another story; didn't like it. Don't pay more than 25 limperas from the bus station! A tuk tuk wanted 250L.

Pros: Quietness-good service-reasonable price
Cons: none
Location: 5 minutes from archeological site of Mayan Ruins
Hotel staff was very attentive. Well organized shuttle from and to hotel to Copán archeological site and downtown. Food was good and reasonable price. Small swimming pool and jacuzzi. Nicely situated and very calm in the middle of nature.

Nice Quiet Hotel

Posted Jan 10, 2012
The Clarion hotel seems to be an older hotel but it is well kept up. The location and price were excellent. It is close to the Copan Ruins and the security is excellent. Although I speak some Spanish the English spoken by the staff was pretty good. I would certainly recommend this hotel especially if you are looking for a nice quiet get away to recharge. The only compalint I would have is that when I tried to book this hotel in the past on line, no rooms were available. Book early to avoid disappointment..
