Great hotel close to the metro station

Posted Jan 5, 2018
Copenhagen city central is within walking distance from this hotel. Hotel is a bit outdated but the claniness or the room is acceptable for the price.

Good location, poorly maintained

Posted Jan 3, 2018
The cleaning staff never changed our sheets, just rearranged the blankets on the bed even though we were there for 10 nights. The breakfast is highway robbery (185 dkk per person for just coffee and scrambled eggs with a few fixings). Booking through expedia didnt permit us to pre-pay for breakfast, which may have saved us some money. The laundry service is also rediculously overpriced - they charge for each item rather than letting you just wash an entire load of laundry. The trash cans are for ants, they barely hold any trash and the cleaning staff will only throw away items in the bins. Our air conditioning didnt work either. The elevators are really slow and small, also difficult for people to operate. The gym closed at 10pm for no reason, i wish i could access it later at night while i was on a different sleep schedule. POSITIVE: great location, decent gym equipment, good security.

NEVER AGAIN

Posted Jan 2, 2018
It was one of the worst hotels I've been in my life, but unfortunately that was my wedding week. The imperial hotel ruined my especial day. I went to Copenhagen to get married and I booked a hotel, expensive one, and I had a terrible time. About the room, if you are a couple and want to spend sometime under the covers, FORGET ABOUT IT, the hotel only provide single duvet, so no cuddle or romantic time. Small towels, small pillow, uncomfortable bedsheets... I would never come back.

Great location to view Copenhagen

Posted Dec 10, 2017
Computer system down on arrival. Had to check in manually - was upgraded and told breakfast included - but when we checked out we had to pay and staff not interested in our complaint. Hotel itself is clean and in a great location for the Central Station, Tivoli Gardens and most of the other major attractions.

Not even average, so what's with the high ratings?

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Just about everything I would judge a hotel by.
Location: Busy 6-lane roads to cross on both sides of this hotel. Restaurants were more expensive & lower quality than elsewhere in CPH. Very Touristy Part.
The hotel is located in the very congested part of Central Copenhagen. For business travelers that may be acceptable, but in general it feels crowded, car traffic is at a maximum and service personnel seemed mostly aloof. Breakfast was included... until we arrived, the receptionist said it wasn't. After an exhaustive 10 minutes trying to convince the receptionist that breakfast was included, I then called Expedia right then and there and handed the phone over to the hotel staff member who argued over the minutia of their policy and computer details, until Expedia and I both gave up. 25 minutes to get the room key. We looked the breakfast one morning, but did not eat it... stale bread just isn't our cup of tea for US$60 per couple. The rooms were even more disappointing. See pictures. Everywhere we looked we either found signs of neglect, lack of thorough cleaning, electrical outlets that didn't work, crud in the bathroom, and beaten up walls and floorboards. The bathroom sink didn't have any room to put towels or personal belongings, the carpet smelled a bit musty and the wooden surfaces were in need of refinishing. Stay somewhere north of hear in a big hotel if you want. I went to the gym at 6 am (when It opens) and there were still towels from the night before laying damp and sweaty on the floor.

Nice Hotel close to the center

Posted Nov 23, 2017
Pros: The price we goot was quite low compared to the available and is close to the train station.
Location: 5 minutes away form the train station and close to the Tivoli and the center. You have restaurants, cafeterias and anything you need close by.
We goot the room for 3 persons with the twin beds and a extra bed.The room had good space maybe the extra bed made it difficult to move around the room but there was space to leave the bags and enough for 3 persons. It was the first floor but it wasnt noisy at all.The shower has a tiny glass so the water ended outside but the bathroom was modern. There is a closet with extra pillows and you had the ventilation heater and the wall heater both available to put at your level of comfort. You have a lot of places to have dinner and breakfast and walking to the center is 10 minutes, to the little mermaid like 25 minutes.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking your time to give your feedback of the hotel. I appreciate this a lot, as it helps to improve our service and product. I am sorry to hear that the beds where too soft for you. It is possible to receive a bedboard, which will make the bed more firm for those who do not prefer a softer bed. It is also possible to receive different kinds of pillows. This is written in the hotel folder and the front desk is also gladly to assist you upon request bed and pillow request. But, I can see that we have not informed you enough regarding this matter, and I will go further with the manager group how we can inform future guests better. I hope that you otherwise had a nice stay in Copenhagen and I hope that we can welcome you back at another time. Have a wonderful day! Yours sincerely IMPERIAL HOTEL Christopher Brännström Østenby Assistant Reservations Manager

Well located hotel close to train station and city

Posted Nov 4, 2017
Good location and facilities. Breakfast is expensive. My only complaint was the noisy neighbours on 2 nights of our stay. I had to ring reception at 1.30am to get them to shut up. Not the hotel’s fault.

Vacation for few days

Posted Oct 25, 2017
Pros: Only negative is that elevators are small and slow, but the building is older. Rooms were updated and clean!
Location: Location is excellent. 5 minutes walk to Copenhagen central train station and to several great restaurants. Close to hop on/off trolley stop.
Staff is very nice and quick to help. Second day our bathroom lights went out. We went sight seeing and it was fixed by he time we got back but the room smelled bad, like sulphur or sewer water. We called and they moved all our bags to a different room quickly.
