Noisy, smelly, look for another hotel

Posted Aug 15, 2017
The walls are paper thin, and the windows and doors have gaps so all noise comes freely into your room. The windows face a courtyard where staff take out trash, starting at 5am, to a squeaky dumpster. The hallways creak and as guests walk past it causes your bed to bounce. The bathroom drain always produces a smell, which is fine if you close the door but unbearable while trying to use the bathroom. The bathroom is also filthy, toilet looks like it has never been cleaned and the floor felt sticky. There are dozens of other hotels or hostels to choose from in the area, I would not recommend this one.

Convenient location, but needs some TLC

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The bar was lovely and a good place to relax, although prices are "Copenhagen high"
Cons: Refer to my comments above.
Location: The Hotel is located a 5 minute walk from Tivoli Gardens and Central Station where you can pick up the open top tourist bus.
Unfortunately when we arrived, we saw that the building was cloaked in plastic sheets and scaffolding. No-one had warned us about this. Hence we could not see out of our room window beyond the plastic sheeting and had workmen outside our window from 7.30am onwards. The room was quite small with twin beds. The bathroom was a wet room which I don't personally like anyway, but what made it even worse was that there were not enough shelves and hooks to put things away from the wet floor. Also the towel rail was not big enough to cater for two people's towels. The room was clean but the decoration was tired and scuffed and needed re-doing. Breakfast was a buffet. No complaints about the quantity, but coffee came out of a machine as did the juice and it was DIY where you had to cut your own cheese and your own fresh fruit, ie cut up melons, pineapples, etc. I had never come across that before.

Dear Rosie Thank you so much for your feedback and for telling others about your stay at our hotel. I apologize regarding the workers outside. It should not be like this. Our bathrooms are small since the house is an old recidense from 1887 and it has the original size for anauthentic Copenhagen experience. We hope to see you again in the future. Perfect location near Hovedbanegaarden

Posted Jul 1, 2017
My room which was a single, small but very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The location is one block from Hovedbanegaarden and so very convenient. I would definitely stay again.

Convenient

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Hotel is near to the train station, very convenient. Easily accessible to the main shopping street and Tivoli Gardens as well. However, for Asians who usually needs a kettle in the room needs to be aware of the room category you book. The room we booked does not have a kettle. Overall, pretty satisfied with our stay.

160€ per night? Give me a break!

Posted Apr 26, 2017 on Hotels
Way too expensive compare with similar hotels that abound the city center. When I got to the room I realized there was a noisy ventilation device both in the bathroom and in the room. I complained but the receptionist told me it was a legal matter of the city council. I responded that I had just come from other hotel that didn't have that device in the room. She changed my room and gave me a chocolate bar as a gift.

For fellow Americans, remember that you are traveling in Europe, so you must adjust your expectations. a European hotel room is a place to sleep and prepare for the day. Other than that, get out of the hotel and look around, experience the city - in this case Copenhagen! The breakfast was superb and the room was fine. For Europeans, you will appreciate that the hotel is a short walk from the main train station and Tivoli Gardens.
