An Alaskan adventure

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: Warmth and ambiance
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Location was off the beaten path but that was alright. A couple of good restaurants nearby for dinner were just right
I enjoyed the proprietor and her warmth while we stayed there. Breakfast was continental but plentiful.

Very secuded.

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The rooms were very nice, new looking.
Cons: Public restroom was not appealing.
Location: We new of none.
Going from Glennallen, the drive way to the property does have a street sign but very small on the left side of the road. Down the rd. from Glennallen the first long hill into the valley the street sign is on the left side. Once you have turned on to the street then you will see a sign to the property. The property is now in the settlement of Copper City. No amenity's around the local area.

From SOCAL to Anchorage

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Friendly and casual.
Nice home. Gary was very personable and helpful. We arrived early and he gave us info on Valdez since my wife and I wanted to go there. Had downstairs room in garage with two twins but it was very pleasant. Breakfast was typical continental fare, Bagels, fruit, oatmeal, coffee and tea.

Cute B&B nestled in the woods

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Alaska is vast, so this hotel is situated at a good breaking point between Anchorage to Fairbank or vice versa.
Cons: A chair in the garage to sit down to take off our boots/shoes, before going upstairs to the main floor
Location: Princess Wilderness Lodge for a dinner, Wrangell St. Elias national park, Valdez for a peek at glacier, waterfalls, and some scenic views on the way.
Sheila & Gary were very nice and helpful hosts. They answered all our questions about nearby restaurants and interesting areas, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Valdez,... We enjoyed our ride from Fairbanks to Copper City, a little stop at North Pole city for early Xmas feel (15 miles southeast of Fairbank), and especially Alaska mountain range. The view was majestic!

优秀的B&B酒店

Posted Aug 19, 2014
主人热情,爱好广泛,房间整理非常干净,厨艺高超,还与我们介绍各种三文鱼知识,做的三文鱼罐头非常美味,还送我们一罐。几条小狗也非常可爱。总之是非常值得体验的一家B&B。

The owners are nice and alot of fun. They enjoyed talking about Alaska and all the interesting tidbits about the area. Additionally, they took us down to see their fish wheel where they catch salmon.

A Great Place in a Beautiful Part of Alaska

Posted Jul 6, 2014
I really enjoyed my stay at Aura Borealis. I am a solo traveler and Gary and Sheila did a great job in making me feel welcome. Their home is very nice, and my room was very nice and clean as well. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed having satellite TV. I usually stay in hotels and one of my concerns staying at a bed and breakfast was with having a shared bathroom/shower. This was never a problem for me at all during my stay. I stayed upstairs, so the bathroom was right across from my room. I was told I would only be sharing the shower and it was always available when I needed it, so I practically had it to myself. It was also very clean and stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner. The kitchen had breakfast in the morning with fruit, muffins, breakfast bars, and other items. I was busy so this was perfect for me to grab and go. I drove to Copper Center from Fairbanks and believe this is a really beautiful part of Alaska. I think it was even more scenic than the drive by Denali. The mountains seem closer and more easily visible to me. The views go on for miles and miles while you drive. Gary and Sheila were great hosts and answered any questions I had. They are friendly and welcoming, but I also felt like I had plenty of privacy as well. This stay was a great experience.
