Luxury old hotel with a perfect location

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: Breakfast, location, view, staff!
Cons: Beds a bit hard. Foam toppers?
Location: Visit old town, huge square, historic sites, walk along the sea, nice shopping.
Loved our stay here. Beautiful balcony over looking the sea. Breakfast was very nice, staff were most helpful. Beds were a little hard, but we could easily overlook this because of the rest of the good points! Lots of places to walk to from this hotel. (Historic and shopping etc) Cafes and tavernas fairly close. Hotel helped us rent a car for a day. It was delivered to the hotel. We toured some parts of the island. Some roads north along the coast were scarey. The southern roads were not scarey along the coast.

Stunning location and easy access to the Old Town

Posted Nov 23, 2016
Pros: Beautiful views of the bay and early morning sunrises. Helpful staff. Treated myself to a pampering facial whilst there. Old world charm.
Cons: Breakfast buffet was disappointing as the cooked food was often barely warm. Limited options for vegetarians.
Location: Expansive vista overlooking the bay, close to the Spianada and Liston plus all the cafes and charming shops in Corfu Town.
Old world charm and comfort in a beautiful location.

Charming but dated and overpriced

Posted Nov 15, 2016 on Hotels
Limited choice of open hotels in the off season, we read the reviews with entripidation but decided on the Corfu Palace. Charming or endearing could be nice words to use, certainly not worth the money.. unfortunately, maybe 60 years ago back when everything was new. For the price they demand I would not stay there again, nothing exceptionally bad except value for money..

Nice Hotel but should not be advertised as 5 Star

Posted Nov 7, 2016
Pros: Staff were helpful and pleasant at all times and it was clean.
Cons: It either needs to provide more facilities and be updated or its rating needs downgrading to a 4 Star.
Location: good location - you could walk to old town and most attractions associated with it.
The hotel was well situated, clean and with good staff but it did not live up to expectations associated with a 5 Star Hotel. The public rooms were well kept, if a little dated but the bedrooms were tired and functional - not luxurious in any way, although very clean. There were no facilities in the room : tea/coffee making, iron/board, water, ice, electrical charging points (international adaptors did not work), English TV/Movies other than BBC World news, towels/robes were old and scratchy, bed was old and had been topped with memory mattress. Room Service food was very poor. Breakfast was buffet style rather than served and very 'samey' each day ..... seemed to have just been topped up from day before. The indoor pool (reason for going there) was 'unavailable' as it was being renovated ...... no details of this when booking? All in all - pleasant and acceptable but what was 5 Star 25 years ago does not equate with today's requirements and standards.

Lovely room and view of the bay and sunrise

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Location: Kerkyra town only a short walk away and a lovely place to wander round with loads of bars and restaurants- not all touristy.
Beautiful room and views. Only issue no hot water. We had to complain three times and then reception owned up there was a problem with 603 and 2 neighbouring rooms and moved us to a lovely suite. Pool and bar terrific. Bar prices over high and so under used which was a shame. Service in hotel excellent and friendly.
