Nice Hotel but should not be advertised as 5 Star

The hotel was well situated, clean and with good staff but it did not live up to expectations associated with a 5 Star Hotel. The public rooms were well kept, if a little dated but the bedrooms were tired and functional - not luxurious in any way, although very clean. There were no facilities in the room : tea/coffee making, iron/board, water, ice, electrical charging points (international adaptors did not work), English TV/Movies other than BBC World news, towels/robes were old and scratchy, bed was old and had been topped with memory mattress. Room Service food was very poor. Breakfast was buffet style rather than served and very 'samey' each day ..... seemed to have just been topped up from day before. The indoor pool (reason for going there) was 'unavailable' as it was being renovated ...... no details of this when booking?
All in all - pleasant and acceptable but what was 5 Star 25 years ago does not equate with today's requirements and standards.
