It was vety bad smell in the room. The towel had yellow spots all over. Air conditioner was making noise. Breakfast was poor too. Very loud noise from the planes.

I liked the fact that the hotel wasn’t far from both Corfu’s old town, which is the city center, and the airport. Both locations were at easy reach by using the public bus line 2A which has a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. One of the reasons why I chose to book rooms at this hotel was because it has a swimming pool, though once getting there I discovered that the swimming pool is not well maintained or cleaned, showing yellow dirt marks around all the walls of the pool and loose wood tiles on the deck area. About the several things that left us dissatisfied with our stay: there were power-cuts several times during our stay, when the hotel had no light or energy for a couple of minutes. Some days the water on the shower didn’t get warm at all and was quite cold, so it was difficult to take showers. On 2 days of our 5 night stay our room hasn’t been cleaned at all, though we left the hotel early in the morning, only came back at night and left the door tag in front our room door indicating it should be cleaned. In one of the nights, a couple who was staying in one of the hotel rooms started fighting and banging on walls and furnitures, the fight was so loud that it could be heard across one full wing of the property and it took a while until the security staff resolved the issue. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was quite poor in options and in how the food tasted.

Been there for one night with my wife, booked a double bed room. Last time, my daughter decided to join us and we showed up at the hotel. Although booked they did their best to find a small bed to add to our room, and they didn’t charge us. Excellent service, well done!

Not bad 2nd time visit
So we stayed here in june with friends and had a great time only fault then was the breakfast , this time back for a long weekend with family was disappointed our room wasnt cleaned once and we had the same towels for 4 days , breakfast still a bit rubbish but if your not too fussy its ok . We where given another room for the day as we had a late check out it was a pool side much bigger than the main hotel and the bathroom was better all in all had a nice weekend 😀

A a few lovely restaurants and Ocean views. Quite remote from corfu town however the bus system is very good. Hotel is noisy due to the runaway few issues with air conditioning and no access for anyone disabled or elderly. - lots of stairs. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Great place if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle

Amazing Hotel
This is an amazing hotel, we have stayed there five times and every time we go, we cannot get over the customer hospitality and service we receive. From being warmly greeted by the reception staff, clean and comfortable bedrooms, a good variety of foods and drinks and the great location of this hotel. Close to the local bus and air services, makes it an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore Corfu. Absolutely stunning scenery!

The property is in a nice location, with a very close bus station, nice restaurants and views from which you can take photos with the incoming airplanes. On the other hand its a bit noisy because of the airplanes but you get used to it. A problem was that the housekeeping changed the towels only after 4 days of using. The AC and the fridge were making a lot of loud noises, not sure why but it kept us awake sometimes during the night. Some people staying on the same floor were laughing and making loud noises in the middle of the night, 2-3AM and no staff told them to go quiet on that hours. The breakfast was ok-ish, the only problem I got there is that the coffee machine which was supposed to make 5-6 types of coffee, made only regular coffee. The pool, somehow clean but very salty water (maybe because thats how they keep it clean) and sometimes with a strong smell of chlorine which is not that pleasant. Overall a bit dissapointed.

The hotel is conveniently located with sea view and airport view...planes taking off or landing there is an entertainment for guests. The facility is in very good condition and the staff is friendly and approachable. Cleanness in rooms and communal areas is definitely something to highlight.

A bit of a disappointment
The main hotel and lobby was very clean and relaxing with helpful receptionist. But overall this hotel is a disappointment. We were given a room away from the main hotel, which smelled of damp and cat urine. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. The outside area was really scruffy and overgrown and obviously hadn’t been maintained at all. The pool is across the road which is dangerous for children. This hotel really needs improvement

We arrived at Corfu around midnight and decided to stay at The Royal because it looked like a decent hotel for the price and to stay for just one night. We weren’t expecting much but surprisingly the room was nice and clean. The service on the other hand was very disappointing. At check in nothing was explained to us, we were given our keys and that’s it. They didn’t even mention or confirm our included breakfast. I had to ask where it was and the schedule. We were not given wifi info. When I tried calling the front desk a few times, no one answered. They did not seem to have things in order. I paid our room when I reserved through Expedia and when we got there they asked me to pay again. Good thing I was able to show proof.

Would stay again
Great little hotel and great location for exploring around Corfu Town. It is located right next to the runway so expect noise, but I loved this and the location was great for amazing views, including the sight of planes coming in over the sea. Reception staff were very polite and helpful and I’d definitely stay again

A good stay
A very nice hotel, quite far from the airport (too far to walk). Amenities in the room are good, but it is strange not to have basic tea and coffee supplies in all rooms regardless of price (50 euros a night not enough for a tea bag!). The hotel staff were very helpful with a late check out and we are very grateful to them for that.

Cute little spot with a great view
The hotel room was average but the view from the pool/deck connects to a little common area that was lovely. Close walking distance to restaurants and shops and atm very close by. We enjoyed watching the airplanes land right in front of us very much. A little loud due to the planes but otherwise very nice.

Great location, good beach 3 minutes away. Bus stop virtually out the front door, comes every 20 minutes and 10 minutes into Corfu town. Hotel is nothing like the photos online. Anne ( reviewed property July 17), the dining area is still waiting for the massive clean up. Shower small and water everywhere. Avoid unless not much else available.

he only thing I can say positive about my stay at the hotel is the staff are all excellent but everything else.......,,, What no one seems to mention on previous reviews that I have seen is the fact it feels like planes are landing on the hotel roof which I have stayed at airport hotels many times but never anything like this. It is so stressful and the last thing you want when you are trying to relax. I was lucky as it was a Thursday and the last flight arrived at 1.00 am and the next morning did not start until 6.00 am and I was only staying one night but if I was there for a week I would be very disappointed. The photos online are amazing but in reality this is not what you get at all. Bathroom: Shower is handheld and water gets everywhere, The fixtures both in the bathroom and bedroom are very worn and the plastic toilet seat cracked and broken and towels grey and dirty looking. I booked a double room and it was two single beds together Elevator was broken on check out and when I reported it the girl says it happens all the time and no apology so had to carry suitcases down the stairs The lunch buffet was just OK but living in Greece I am used to fantastic Greek meals and this was not it, definitely cheap options The island is wonderful but my advice is to stay away from the airport if you want a relaxing time.

Hotel is located right at the end of the runway. The sound level at my sunbed reached 98.6dB. It is frequent and if you are unwilling to persevere with it then stay away. The room felt unfinished with a very poor dirty paint finish and poor decoration. The TV was a very small CRT with the cable taped together. The mattress was uncomfortable and the bathroom did not have hot water. The air-con was great and the balcony was a nice feature. The pool and surrounding area to it was in need of cleaning and repair. Lovely views from the terrace, however, especially the sunset. The food was plentiful, however, poor quality. Expect pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs, beans and very nice bread plus various hams and cheeses for breakfast. Dinner choice of 3 mains (generally okay taste wise though often cold) plus vegetables and salad. Dessert was ice cream or some pretty tasteless cake or custard. The soft drinks, juice and hot drinks were all actually very good. The Rose was drinkable and the White which is my normal choice was very poor; I couldn't drink it owing to an after taste. Staff were helpful and friendly, attentive in the restaurant, and the ground floor was furnished well. Overall would really suggest staying away from the food if you are after anything more than just filling your stomach and if you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. If you are not able to afford anything else, it will do for a night or two, but be prepared to be underwhelmed.

Good for a traveler who’s not expecting much but if you’re a family or couple staying for a while, it’s definitely not for you. Room has stains everywhere, bed is fine though, bathroom good, food for breakfast is cheap and covered in flies. Only for someone who just needs a place to stay for the night.

When arrived at the hotel we were greeted with ‘wait a minute’. Hotel could really do with a refurbishment and the room could have been kept better. Fresh towels were not provided and the shower facilities were very unsafe. The shower was very weak and leaked, causing the floor to become very wet and slippery. The bedside table was hanging out of the wall and the floors were covered in dust. The breakfast runs from 0730-1000 but was very disappointing and could have had much more effort placed into It. Very disappointing stay despite the lovely view from our room. We were unable to catch much sleep due to the hotel being very near corfu’s airport runway.

Scam picture hotel: Noisy, smelly, dirty
It doesnt matter who you are and what your taste is like, this hotel is not for you. First its nothing like the pictures suggest. In fact I was very impressed with the photoshop skills of the owner but less so with the actual place. The name is a joke Royal (not ina million years), boutique (nothing boutiquey about this worn down motel block). The hotel is located next to the airport runway (you can actually see it when you are landing in Corfu). The smell on the ground floor upon our arrival was horrendous (something between wet dog and dead animal). The lift we were told to use is bound to get stuck and dangerous (late 1950ies?). We found bugs in our room and didnt even open our suit cases should there be bed bugs (which to be fair there were none). The room looked very mediocre and not like on the pictures at all. There were smudges on the wall. There were no proper bed linens and the mattress was rather uncomfortable. The linens looked freshly washed, the blanket however not. The room was ok clean, the toilet too if you can ignore the bugs. The fuses went and we had to shower in the dark. The hotel staff was not helpful at all and reacted agressive when we told them about our disappointment. Im glad we only stayed for one night. There is far nicer, cleaner and cheaper places around Corfu.

Nice but does'nt meet standards of hotel-boutiques
We arrived around 11h15am. We were welcomed by an extraordinary nice, caring and helpful front desk clerk (Xenia I think) who allowed us to leave our luggage ahead of time in the room that was being cleaned.We were well prepared but she also gave us wonderfuls and useful tips as where to go, what to skip and her recommanded spots for our tour of the island by car for the next 2 days. The room was small and there was no shower curtain and carpet (messy!). It was complicated and long to get extra pillows, towels and sheets in the evening and at night. Breakfast was very suitable. Very conveniently located besides the Vlachernas monastery on the Kanoni peninsula in front of the airport landing runway, great pictues and the noise didn't annoy us). Very good city bus service few steps away (line 2 Kanoni, get a 5 euros full-day ticket) and also ideal if you have a car and want to get away from the agitation of Corfu-town. I guess I was just expecting a little more at the price I paid from a so-called ''hotel-boutique''.

Nice area
The area sourounding the hotel has great views and two good resturants especially captain George's, the hotel itself looked very tired .and in need of an upgrade . The worst aspect of the hotel was that Corfu airport run way was in a loogoon aproxiamatly eight hundred metres from the hotel so the noise of the aircraft taking of and landing was constant the planes stoped operating from approximately one am till six am .we had a so called see view of the run way and you could with the balcony doors closed still hear the planes. On the good side the pool area was fine .good connections to Corfu town by bus and just up the road a great view of Mouse Island and the surrounding area .

extremely good staff
my first visit to Greece and i was awed by Greeks hospitality and their genuine friendliness. We have met great people there and had time of our lives. That statement includes hotel we styed in and its fantastic staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them.Our restaurant manager- George always had some get-around tips for us and recommended great places to visit, very approachable person and a real asset for the hotel. During busy breakfasts skilfully managed his team and i have also noticed staff from other departments were called to help when a coach tour came down all at once for brekkie. Food was always fresh and warm, selection of items was absolutely satisfactory. I dont really understand why some guests are so quick to complain, perhaps they dont really understand the concept of hotel industry and pricing strategies, although i believe these people are always unsatisfied, malcontent types and keyboard warriors. Oh ad Victoria, thanks for all your assistance with sorting plates and cutlery for us :) The reception Staff always very friendly and accommodating, they tended to every need we had, organized a bottle of champagne for my friend's birthday, and gave us complimentary late check-out. Maria, Lenka and Christina, thank you so much for your lovely smile, greeting us every time you saw us and making our vacations so special, night team also thank you for your help. Great views!
Ok, well we went half term in October so out of season. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and would go out of their way to help. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We had a sea view over looking the runway which meant there was noise but not that much. The planes didn't fly through the night and the earliest flight was about 6.30am and most mornings we slept through the noise. Out of season meant not many planes but I would imagine the summer months would be more. The noise really didn't bother us and we was prepared to have noise since it stayed close to the runway. The buses ran every 10-15 mins on the blue service and took us straight into town. A single trip is €1.70 and they do a daily ticket which is €5 and that's used on all blue routes up until midnight. Overall the location was perfect, views were fantastic. Hotel was perfect for us as a base to put our head down and to freshen up. Staff were brilliant. Perfect access for the mouse church too with steps leading down to the church.

Not the choice for a peaceful stay
Hotel is in a great location as far as view is concerned, Mouse Island is visible from hotel, staff are fantastic, however despite knowing proximity to airport runway we were not expecting the noise to be so excessive. The location seems to amplify the sound.

The hotel is fine for a couple of much stay.
The hotel is fine, for a couple of nights, however needs to have some serious investment, to bring it up to standard. The room we stayed in had been through some modernisation but corners had been cut, the bath tub was clearly old whilst the rest has been updated. The area around the hotel has a couple of nice bars/ restaurants and watching the planes from your balcony is a novelty.
